We opened our first cafe in 2013 with the mission of offering specialty coffee in a warm and inclusive environment.
During our expansion, we quickly understood that as a company, our central commitment was to our employees. It is with them and thanks to them that everything else is possible.
Overall, MELK Café is described as a cozy, small spot with excellent coffee, standout matcha and scones, and friendly, fast service that makes it a good place to work or study, though seating is limited and the space can feel crowded during peak times. The menu and drinks get high marks, pastries are often praised, and prices are generally considered reasonable, with some notes about the occasional pastry being a bit sweet or the espresso not having depth. A few reviews mention moments of inconsistent service or a busy, noisy atmosphere, and one highlights a tip prompt at payment, but the overall vibe is warm and the quality of drinks and snacks keeps people returning.
Came here to get out of the rain. The service was very kind, drinks were beautifully prepared. The space is small but cozy, with bathrooms in the parking garage connected to the cafe. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for a good latte & dirty chai!
Come for the scones. There's coffee too, but the espresso falls flat. There's no depth to the roast. It's easy drinking you could say. Coffee for the non-coffee drinker. The everything scone tho… it's a thing of beauty. Wasn't expecting the cream cheese baked into it. Wonderful touch. The dough was a bit overworked & tough but that's a small nitpick on a great offering. Will come back for another.
Such a cool little cafe. It has a nice amount of seating, including benches with a table, seats with a table, & bar type seats.
The pomme scone was delicious, & the brownie was perfection.
The latte was really nice, but the maple latte was the perfect amount of sweet & not overwhelming. I will go back for that latte alone!
They have a good variety of drinks at a reasonable price. The people working there were super kind. They speak English & French perfectly. We were able to switch between the two languages flawlessly.
They will be seeing my partner & I again!
A cute little shop, nice to have a quick grab. The store is pretty small so it took a while to get the drink & not too many seats. I do like my ice latte. 🙂

My favorite cafe!! The drinks are amazing, highly recommend the dulce de leche latte or any of their specialty drink depending on the season. Their chai is also very good! It's small but I always find a seat to study & there's also free WiFi. The music might be a bit loud for some people & there's a lot of people going in & out which might be distracting but I personally don't mind. The baristas are always very nice & froth milk perfectly. Highly recommend!
Average coffee shop with accommodating seating, quick service & reasonable prices. The baked goods were not particularly good & were rather dry & the drinks not very sweet against personal preference. There are double doors for entry & a few ledges to get in.

Absolutely love the decaf beans, though I could tell that everyone else was enjoying their caffeinated drinks. Friendly staff. Highly recommend this place.
A very nice small café just stopped in for a London fog & warm up from the cold on my trek across the city. Not much to it, it's very small limited seating. The service was great & quick & the drinks were good.
We were staying at the Sheraton Hotel nearby & decided to get some nice coffee. This place is super cozy, a little crowded but has solid drink options. I just wish the menu was a little bit easier to read, green on white isn't the easiest. We ordered the pumpkin spice latte as well as a flat white. It met expectations & was better than ordered from a Starbucks or coffee chain.
I love this place! First time I went was at the location on Monkland in 2018 when I first moved to Montreal. After relocating downtown, I was happy to find Melk nearby! I come from a coffee enthusiast family, so I take my coffee seriously. Whenever I order a decaf oat latte to go, or a decide to be adventurous with a regular full caff drink, I melt into the first sip & stop in my tracks to appreciate moment. Who knew coffee could be so grounding? I've also had the matcha, but I come back for the coffee. I've only sat in here 2-3 times because of how busy it can get for such a small cafe, but I'd say the window seat gives you the most peace & privacy! As for the pastries, they offer gluten-free options, banana bread, carrot apple loaf, cookies, bars, & whatever is on hand at the time. I don't always go for snacks, but from what I can tell, the availabilities change. They also have a tiny fridge under the counter with juice & other bottled beverages. I bought two bags of beans, local, to gift to my family. The tasting notes were interesting for a lot of the options available, but I was able to ask the enthusiastic barista for a recommendation based on preparation style & preferred notes. Always a treat!

Obsessed with this cafe! Have been here almost day while on vacation. Great selection of gluten-free baked goods on a separate shelf from the regular baked goods - & they use separate tongs to make sure it is allergy & celiac safe. & their coffee?! AMAZING! Whether you get the plain filter coffee or a special drink - some of the best coffee downtown
