We opened our first cafe in 2013 with the mission of offering specialty coffee in a warm and inclusive environment.
During our expansion, we quickly understood that as a company, our central commitment was to our employees. It is with them and thanks to them that everything else is possible.
Overall, MELK Café is described as a cozy inviting spot with strong coffee and a reputation for tasty home style snacks and fresh scones. Reviewers praise drinks like dulce de leche latte, lavender latte, chai and matcha, and note excellent latte art and quick friendly service in many visits. The pastry selection gets frequent praise with many loving the variety of scones such as everything bagel with cream cheese, lemon cherry and chocolate blueberry, though some say they can sell out early. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable and good for studying or working, but seating is limited and the space can feel crowded and noisy during busy times. Service quality is mixed in a few cases, and a few comments mention a prompt for tipping at payment and occasional lapses in attentiveness. A handful of critiques point to milder or flat coffee profiles and higher prices, yet many call MELK Café among the best in Montreal and a worthwhile visit for those seeking good coffee and standout baked goods.
Good coffee, we always buy their beans for coffee at home. I like their scones & muffins. However, it's an in & out coffeeshop, the place is too small.
I ordered a flat white. The coffee art was excellent, the service was excellent, but the coffee tasted like nothing, mostly milk. I also thought it was expensive for what it was. I've had cheaper flat whites in other places & they tasted much better. I know it's my personal taste but well... I wouldn't come back. Plus the coffee shop is tiny & not very comfortable to stay in.
Staff were friendly & attentive they have the best scones in Montreal I highly recommend all bagels scones for savory & the dark chocolate for sweet but all scones I've tried are pretty delicious unfortunately their white chocolate & cherry scones are no longer available which was my favorite.
This is a real hidden gem. It's a small premise on an unassuming street, but the interior, the food & most importantly the coffee is outstanding. It's definitely worth a visit.
I love their lavender & dulce de leche lattes, & their coffees overall. What I did find somewhat off putting is the fact that you are immediately presented with a tip prompt when you go to pay.
Such a cool little cafe. It has a nice amount of seating, including benches with a table, seats with a table, & bar type seats.
The pomme scone was delicious, & the brownie was perfection.
The latte was really nice, but the maple latte was the perfect amount of sweet & not overwhelming. I will go back for that latte alone!
They have a good variety of drinks at a reasonable price. The people working there were super kind. They speak English & French perfectly. We were able to switch between the two languages flawlessly.
They will be seeing my partner & I again!
Awesome roaster. I've been buying their beans for months & would recommend them for those that make their own espresso at home. The coffee served in-store is certainly great as well, but the limited space makes the place feel crammed.

Stopped by Melk & absolutely loved it! The cappuccino was smooth & perfectly made, & the scones were fresh & delicious. Cozy spot with a warm vibe, definitely worth a visit if you're in Montreal.
The Stanley location is really small, more of a place to grab on the go, but overall a nice cafe. The only thing I didn't like was how loud they played the music.
There are some ups & downs to this one but overall a good spot. The two things that docked it for us were the noise & cround. I know you cant do much about the amount of people in there but the way the sound bounced around the tiny room really made it hard to talk. That being said, it had a nice atmosphere otherwise with light design & greenery. The main thing that matters is how the coffee is & the coffee was pretty good. They let us have a sample of the coldbrew before ordering which was great. In general the staff was super friendly & fast for how many people were in there.
Such a cute spot to grab some coffee or matcha! This was the best matcha I had on my Montreal trip & the service was impeccable. Small spot but lots of character.
