I had a great night! Special thanks to Jerome for the service & Quentin for the impeccable hospitality. I also later went to the bar & had some amazing drinks made by Julien ! I will definitely come back!
We had drinks at the bar. We walked in because it looked so cozy & nice inside. Very friendly bartenders (Marie Joelle & Steven), great service, & great drinks. Busy, but still very, very attentive.

came to visit montreal & wanted to experience a steak house & found Mechant Boeuf. My friends & I had an amazing time, the food & drinks was 10/10. Our server was so kind & the customer service was out of this world. I would definitely recommend coming here & i will be back!!
Food was amazing but service was quite slow. During the meal we sat with empty drinks for probably 20+ minutes before our server came by (I had to flag her down when I saw her as she didn't come over on her own) & she was very hard to find during our evening. I had to get up & go over to her at the bar to ask for our bills because we had been sitting finished our meals for a while with no communication from her. I expect better service when I'm paying this much. Atmosphere was very nice.
We had a fantastic time at le mechant boeuf. The Terrasse is beautiful, the drinks were delicious, even their mocktails were a treat! & the food was awesome! Such a wonderful time in the Old Port. Our waiter Valter was kind & attentive, exceptional service. What a treat!

Amazing night here. Food was incredible, ambience was very chill, drinks were top tier. Service was amazing as well, got waitresses Sarah & Amelie being quick & efficient the whole night. 10/10 customer service. 10/10 food. 100% recommended.
Y'all, this place was amazing! We came to celebrate my friend's birthday & the vibes were great. I definitely recommend 100%. The service is fast, the staff is super kind & the music is good too. The drinks are a good quantity & the meat is fresh. You will definitely have a great night here. We were served by Nolan, thank you so much for a great night! 🫶🏾
Atmosphere was amazing. Food took over an hour to table. Service sucked, waitress came to our table 3 times, no drink refills. Gave 15 percent tip & could not have been more rude after.

Started our friday night here for my Bachelor party weekend, We order a few appetizers the calamari was perfect as we're the dumpling, the cocktails we had were perfectly made my whiskey sour was made to perfection, for our main we opted for a 47oz porterhouse & a 36oz Kansas for everyone to share, the steak was absolutely amazing cooked to perfection. When it came to the sides & im not one to really comment on sides because most places are good, but when it came to there potato puree it was amazing the flavours the creaminess when mixing in the egg yolk absolutely delicious. As for the staff from the moment we walked in & were seated 5star all the way very knowledgeable about there for menu & drinks wine selection was very good, the attention to detail was spot on, all the staff made sure everyone was enjoying themselves the manager was very hands on walking around & speaking to the customers making sure every customer was happy & that everything was to there liking. Not sure what else I can say from the front of the house to the back it was perfect compliments to the chef aswell as all the staff everyone plays a crucial role to make every customers experience just perfect & you hit it spot on, My wedding is June 15th 2024, & next year on June 15th 2025 we will be definitely traveling from ottawa to enjoy a dinner & drinks for our first anniversary. & with how perfect everything is I hope to continue that tradition for years to come on our anniversary.
Filet was delicious though under seasoned. The three sauce options for the steaks were all very bland & flavorless. The pork dumplings were great & we enjoyed our drinks.

Visited Merchant Boeuf recently & had an exceptional dining experience! We indulged in two poutines with succulent beef brisket, which were absolutely delicious - the perfect blend of crispy fries, savory gravy, & tender brisket. The Méchant burgers we ordered were also a hit, juicy & flavorful, easily some of the best we've had. The spicy chicken sandwiches were another highlight, packing just the right amount of heat & taste to leave us thoroughly impressed. Beyond the food, the cocktails were a standout. Each one we tried was fantastic, showcasing a creative mix of flavors that were both refreshing & delightfully balanced. The atmosphere of the place added to the enjoyment, making our meal there not just a dinner, but a truly enjoyable experience. Highly recommend Merchant Boeuf for anyone looking for top-notch food & drinks in a welcoming setting. It's a place we'll definitely return to!

I had a lovely dinner last week. Menu selection was excellent, as well as drinks option. I had the steak frites with creamy spinach, the meal was delicious. This is a great spot in old Montreal!
really mediocre valentine day experience. first, i had to ask twice to have our table to be fixed (the table was wobbly) & for ice. that being said, it was busy so that wasn't a huge deal. the drinks were great, nice presentation & tasted perfect. we ordered the greek cheese with jam & pomegranate. it came with only three slices of bread so we ended up asking for a basket of bread, which to be fair, we didn't know we had to ask for it. then we ordered the wagyu experience option & the food took an hour to arrive. i have to mention again, it was very busy. but for the price & the type of meat, it was sooo disappointing when our steak (which is the only hot meal of the course) came out cold. it's important to note that our steak couldn't be heated like its supposed to, since heating it up would over cook the meat. our fries & sauce were not given to us & when i ordered, our server did not ask me about what kind of sauce i wanted, pretty unorganized. at one point, my partner & i went out for a smoke & by the time we got back, the lamp that was on our table disappeared our server also did not pay attention to the small details you'd expect for such restaurant. no dirty plates or utensils were picked up, i had to ask a busboy to give us new ones. it was just so disappointing. the food was very tasteless & cold. i would not recommend this restaurant. arrived at 7:30 & left at 10:30 because of the amount of time we had to wait for our food. i'd advise you to spend your money & evening at another steakhouse like Gibbys.
The food here is amazing & the location is fantastic. The service though, is absolutely horrendous. It took almost a half hour to get our drinks, & almost an hour to get our check.
Bruyant, bonne bouffe... J'aurais donné 4 étoiles si la serveuse ne nous demandait pas toutes les 5 minutes si on a terminé notre plat ou notre drinks (alors qu'il est clair que le verre n'est pas vide). On y va pour la bouffe. Mais pas pour le service ni pour avoir une conversation entre amis, sauf si bien sûr vous aimez parler très fort ..
