Super découverte hier soir de ce steakhouse dans le Vieux Montréal ! Notre steak Porterhouse était cuit à la perfection, les portions sont généreuses & les accompagnements délicieux. Rapport qualité prix très honnête! Un merci spécial à Emilie pour son excellent service & ses bons conseils pour notre choix de menu 😊
Nous nous sommes rendus au Méchant Boeuf avec un très bon ami & nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'ambiance & la nourriture. Le manager Quentin nous a fourni d'excellents conseils sur le vin. Celui ci a sublimé notre dégustation de viande. Je recommande !

L'ambiance est très bien. La bouffe était excellente. Le morceau de viande & la cuisson étaient parfait. Nous avons été servis par Valter qui nous a donné un service hors du commun. Merci aussi à Emma au bar pour les cocktails!
We went here twice in two weeks because it was so good. The first time we were served by Sarah & the second by Valter. Superb service, faultless. The sommelier was also excellent & provided great advice for our wine selections. The food is outstanding - first time we all had steak & the second the seafood platter. Food was faultless & super fresh. Great ambience, extensive wine list, amazing service. One of the best restaurants in Montreal from our experience.

The food was exactly as promised, high quality cuts of beef served with pleasant side dishes. Our waiter Valter was extremely professional & amicable, going along with our jokes & making sure we were well taken care of. If I was to ever come back I'd hope he was my waiter again. Happy to say we found my first born's name, Valter Jr.
Food was delicious, bread was so good. They have this whipped butter in little aluminum cups & holy walnuts I got hard just from the bread. Great for gay couples!
On Tuesday July 9, 2024, my wife & I had a reservation at the restaurant Mechant Boeuf in Vieux Montreal. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a great table right in front of the windows, which were open as the weather was so warm & pleasant. The service by our waiter Nolan was nothing short of perfect! His wine suggestion went perfectly with our supper. We had a calamari appetizer which was crispy & hot. We both had ribeye steaks which were cooked exactly how we requested, served hot & they were delicious & tender!! We took a side of French Fries with one & a green salad with the other. The salad had a really tasty dressing!! A side of mushrooms, which were out of this world, was the perfect accompaniment! The steaks came with a nice selection of vegetables. We found that the restaurant had suffered a bit with food quality & service following Covid (as did many). I am happy to state that under the leadership of the General Manager Laurent Plantavin, they are back to the high standard of quality that had made Mechant Boeuf one of our go-to restaurants for special occasions with family & friends. We will be back to celebrate at this fine restaurant again!!

Poor service! We Asked for tomahawks that is on the menu but apparently not for lunch time only for supper (it should be written anyplace before seating down! Finally asked for a Picanha medium rare but unfortunately was well done on the sides & medium on the inside (middle). French fries cold! Good wine tho but you pay the price!

A mixed review. The servers were nice, but we had almost an hour wait for our starters, or any bread. The waiter apologised, but it was a very long wait. The worst part was that they also hadn't taken our starter plates away when our main courses arrived, so there was a scramble to take those plates away, to make room for our main plates. Surprised at the lack of communication between them. Tables were too small for 4 people - we didn't have enough room. We also then had to wait a long time to order dessert, & then even longer for our dessert plates to be taken away. My steak was nice but I ordered medium & it was cooked well-done, which was disappointing. I was so hungry by that point I didn't want to wait for it to be re-cooked. For $60+ a steak, I expect it to be cooked how I ordered... I was disappointed as it has the potential to be excellent.
Hit up this place during a bachelor party & everything was top notch. I got the Seafood Tagliatelle which is pasta & it comes with shrimp, scallops, mussels topped with cheese. It was to die for, & it came in a very generous portion. 100% recommend this place especially after walking around the streets hitting up different shops.
