Our server, Jean, was wonderful! He was so lovely & accommodating, & we felt very well taken care of by the rest of the staff as well. We would definitely come here again, especially while this crew is working!
It was a good experience. To be fair, it was very busy during our time. The door was open a lot & it was a little cold inside. Besides that, the food was very good. The ceasar salad was amazing. The steak was cooked to our desired temperature & the sauces were good. The mashed potato was served cold & the fries were not noteworthy, but it didn't take much away from the meal.
Truly exceptional service by our waiters, particularly the tall slim gentleman & young women with a pink shirt & white pants (Can't remember their names), both worked in the front section of the restaurant. Food was delicious & great atmosphere. Not our first visit there & definitely nott our last.
In town for the 4 Nations tournament & happened to be staying at the Hotel Nelligan. We stopped in at the Mechant Boeuf for a late dinner. Valter took care of us & was an outstanding server. We had great conversation with him while enjoying a fantastic dinner. Thank you Valter! We will be back.

Belle expérience la serveuse Chanelle était très gentille & à l'écoute, on a apprécié !
Le plat était bon mais un peu de sel pour nous c'est dommage.. on l'a fait savoir à la serveuse & on a eu le dessert au choix offert
Sarah & Camel were amazing! The food was the best we've had in Montréal. Came for our anniversary dinner & the service was impeccable. Can't wait to come back in the summer!

beautiful ambience & great friendly service. location is awesome, in the beautiful area of Old Montreal. The food however at least for us that night left us disappointed. Both steak orders were well over-cooked & the braised beef ribs was quite salty & inconsistently cooked, beautifully soft & tender in spots & then tough & overcooked in other spots. I'm willing to give the restaurant another shot the next time we visit Montreal as the service was great.
I expected more from the food considering the place is a beef restaurant. Wasn't impressed by the dish quality considering prices. Service was outstanding though
