The service is consistently praised for being attentive, friendly and professional, with staff guiding guests through the menu and making special occasions feel taken care of. The kitchen earns frequent praise for expertly prepared steaks, tender braised dishes, fresh seafood and thoughtful sides that showcase quality ingredients and skill. The drinks program and desserts are well loved, with many noting standout cocktails, wine options and memorable sweet finishes. Reservations are advised during peak times, and while the restaurant's prices are on the higher side, the overall experience including ambience, service and food keeps guests returning.
The place is very beautiful, but the food was disappointing. We ordered steak & shrimp, but they had no taste. The shrimp felt like frozen ones from a supermarket, & the steak was not good. Even the mashed potatoes didn't taste nice - I didn't know it was possible to make them badly. Cannot recommend. & it was too loud.
The food was simply outstanding, exactly what you would expect from a menu of that caliber. I'd like to make a special mention of Valter, our exceptional waiter, who was attentive, thoughtful, & full of genuine care. I was meeting my boyfriend's family from Costa Rica for the first time, & I chose Méchant Boeuf for the occasion. The experience was truly exceptional, made all the more memorable by Valter's special touch. He turned our evening into a remarkable & lasting memory.

Thiis place was fantastic. From service to food. I had the onion soup, & beef short ribs, & my girlfriend had the seafood tagliatelle. It was all delicious. After our meal we had a drink at the bar to catch the hockey game. We enjoyed some khalua Rhum coffees & peroni's. We will be visiting méchant Boeuf again absolutely. Thank you for a great evening.
Marie-Joelle was absolutely amazing! She recommended cocktails for us & we loved the beef tartare & fresh oysters she recommended. She made the BEST moscow mule we've ever had. Her positive attitude & warm smile made our night memorable. We spent the night sitting at the bar because the dining room seemed dim without her personality lighting the way. You're very lucky to have her. We are first time guests at the hotel & we will come back tomorrow for another cocktial just to see her again. We had a wonderful time here!

We decided to stop into Mechant Boeuf for a drink at the bar since we had eaten a very late lunch while touring Montreal. The inside of the restaurant is absolutely stunning; kudos to the designer. I ordered a Cosmopolitan, & my husband ordered the Le Peche drink. Both drinks were delicious, but the Le Peche was OMG delicious. I took a sip & I still can't stop thinking about it. We then decided to order the salmon dinner which came with brussel sprouts & potatoes. Oh my goodness, it was amazingly delicious. We then got the Brookie dessert which was also very good. My only disappointment is that we weren't in Montreal long enough to have a sit down dinner at Mechant Boeuf, but it's the first restaurant on our list to go to when we return to Montreal.
Unfortunately, I do not remember our bartenders name, but he was very nice.
