McKibbins Irish Pub comes across as a versatile downtown favorite with a lively, welcoming vibe, excellent Guinness and pub fare, and a calendar full of events from sports viewing to standup comedy and live music. The back patio is a highlight and the overall atmosphere blends traditional Irish charm with modern crowds, making it a dependable spot for a casual night out or a night of laughs. The menu offers a satisfying range from wings and nachos to burgers and bison, with consistently friendly service across shifts. Regulars point to Monday and Tuesday comedy nights and upstairs shows as a big draw, while the bar and beer selection keep the energy high on weekends and sports nights. Overall, it presents as a dependable, bustling institution with great drinks, good food, and strong entertainment options that suit a variety of tastes and occasions.
Terrible. We went into an Irish Bar & had to ask for a drink. Table service was extremely slow with ample staff so we went to the bar to ask for a drink which we were denied & told to ask our server. Lol what a joke. Got a shotty poured Guinness & decided it leave. Considering how well w e have been treated on our trip to Montreal I was extremely disappointed for a highly rated Irish pub . Nice terrace on the back side & the doorman was very friendly Guess they don't need our business. Sad. ☘?
Montréal is not a city known for its Irish pubs, which is a shame because there is a lot of Irish history running through these streets.
McKibbons is an exception to that reality. It has beautiful decor, friendly staff, & most importantly, DELICIOUS 👏& 👏affordable👏pub👏 food.
That's right folks, not only is this some of the best pub food you'll find in Montréal, the prices are beyond fair especially considering its downtown.
Check it out, get literally anything on the menu & I doubt you'll be disappointed.
Oh & a beautiful terrace in back during the warmer months.
Shoutout to Jasmine who served my partner & I on our last visit!
Great experience. I arrived early & they took some time to clear up the table for me but the service was excellent. We were served by Hannah & she was the best. They didn't have a lot of whiskey selections but beer menu seems pretty good! We had a lot of fun & danced to the live music a little near the end of the night!

Drinks are good & so is the food. The only reason why this rating is low is because my friends & I went to the downstairs area, after being upstairs for about an hour. While my friends & I were waiting for our ride, my friends took my phone to look at something. So while they had my phone, I put my head in my hands & was close to the table because I was admiring the art on the wall, because honestly the pictures & signs are pretty cool. HOWEVER, a security guard came up to me & aggressively tapped me on the arm & yelled'You can't sleep here!!!' & when I tried to explain that I wasn't sleeping, he walked away mid-sentence. Then, a few minutes later, after being embarrassed, a waiter comes up, annoyed & says we have to order something & we say water please, & they walked away still annoyed. We can tell we didn't feel welcomed there. (The only reason why there is two stars, & not one, is because the people in the upstairs area were really friendly & nice).
I was surprised that the upstairs portion has a dance floor which was playing 2000s jams which was excellent. That aside it's a fairly solid, went on a Friday night so it was very busy but staff still got to us eventually & had a decent selection
We tried the rim reaper challenge but just the six wings. But couldn't finish them..We went as a group of 4 to try the spice level, but at the end there are 2 more wings left, it was extremely spicy..
Great place to see a hockey match. I recommend to arrive early to catch a table. The potato soup is a must & of course the chicken wings. If you are like spicy, the spicy sauce it's good, not so spicy but it helps.
They say that at 10 pm a group plays & it gets even better so I'll have to come back.
