McKibbins Irish Pub comes across as a versatile downtown favorite with a lively, welcoming vibe, excellent Guinness and pub fare, and a calendar full of events from sports viewing to standup comedy and live music. The back patio is a highlight and the overall atmosphere blends traditional Irish charm with modern crowds, making it a dependable spot for a casual night out or a night of laughs. The menu offers a satisfying range from wings and nachos to burgers and bison, with consistently friendly service across shifts. Regulars point to Monday and Tuesday comedy nights and upstairs shows as a big draw, while the bar and beer selection keep the energy high on weekends and sports nights. Overall, it presents as a dependable, bustling institution with great drinks, good food, and strong entertainment options that suit a variety of tastes and occasions.
Great selection of taps & AWESOME genuinely friendly staff behind the bar.
The only downer on this past Friday night was the band - patrons where moving away in droves & groups walking in made a
u-turn right out.
My understanding is that the staff did speak to the them to adjust their levels i.e. you're at a pub not metalfest & that they got blown off.
Also they were playing funk & disco classics at 45 speed when it should've been 33 1/3.
Who booked them? I mean a pub equals classic rock & Great Big Sea or even Dropkick Murphys. We moved downstairs which was nice & quiet with a pretty big tv (Jays opener).
I've been here a few times & it's iconic but cam on!
On a bright note: The pint of Guinness was pretty good.
Hands down the best pun in town. A great selection of drinks, amazing service & staff, the food is top notch & beats out most restaurants, & definitely beats the fast food joints. They have live music on certain days, a club with a DJ on the top floor, a backyard & frontyard terrace, a television for sporting events, & a basement for a quieter atmosphere. Honestly, it's got it all.
Great experience. I arrived early & they took some time to clear up the table for me but the service was excellent. We were served by Hannah & she was the best. They didn't have a lot of whiskey selections but beer menu seems pretty good! We had a lot of fun & danced to the live music a little near the end of the night!
I was surprised that the upstairs portion has a dance floor which was playing 2000s jams which was excellent. That aside it's a fairly solid, went on a Friday night so it was very busy but staff still got to us eventually & had a decent selection
This sports bar is everything a true fan needs. They offer a comprehensive range of pay channels-at least all the ones I could think of-which ensures you won't miss a game. The service is both friendly & efficient, & the beer selection is excellent. I especially enjoyed their onion soup-a real standout dish. With its vibrant atmosphere, this is the place in Montreal to catch a game, or even two!

An Irish pub in a university town near McGill University. The atmosphere realy brings you to Irish… at the least the Irish I imagine.
The poutine is too salty, but great fires, so I will just order fries next time. They have limited selection of local beers, otherwise lots of differentdeinks to offer. I would like to see more local craft beers in the future!
It's also a bit pricey. One poutine plus one beer coated me $35 in total. This will make me think twice going again.
Loved the music, mostly songs we didn't hear for a long time from the 80s & 90s & the full vibe with live concert if you're into that. Great place where we can talk intimately with friends with some nice beer selections. It's easily a favorite Irish pub in Montreal.
I have been eating bison burgers & drinking Guinness at this bar for over 10 years. They have a great selection of both Irish beer & food. The live music & comedy shows are always a great experience. The only thing I recommend customers avoid are the chicken wings, it's not worth the free T-shirt.

McKibbin's is a cozy little spot with a lot of character!! You can be sure that if the walls could talk, you would be regailed with many boisterous tales of pub goers past & present. The drink selection is okay, & the prices are consistent with the area. The staff were very friendly & attentive, which helps to keep the cozy character of the pub. On a hot day, you can enjoy a nice drink in a hidden little open-air patio in the back of the pub, or retire to the cozy interior & take in the sights & the rich character that surrounds you. I would most certainly come back here!
We stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon after 3 hours of art museums. Great beer selection, very friendly service with tastes to figure out your likes from the big on tap selection - try the cream ale - & quite good house frites. An added bonus was the live music that started off with a guitar & fiddle doing Irish folk music, then joined over the next hour by two more fiddles & a piccolo/flute/whistle player. An enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. We'll be back.
Has a really great Irish pub vibe. Great traditional items on the menu. The food is well priced & flavorful & there is a good selection of drinks on the menu.
Very nice warm & cozy place. It gives the feeling of a real Irish Pub. Big selection of beers for all the testes. The service is alittle bit slow but other than that we had a good time.
