Get ready for an over generous delicious meal! We went for a casual dinner as we both love lamb chops which are not available in many places. We ordered a tzatziki appetizer which, with Greek garlic pita bread, was a prelude to an excellent meal. We followed Angelo's advice on medium for the lamb chops as they are heavily marinated. The plates came with a very large salad (choice of Greek or garden), crisp flat Greek fries, rice & 4 large delicious lamb chops. With a glass of ouzo at only 6$ this was a sumptuous meal that we could not finish. Our waiter Angelo made our dinner memorable with his advice, excellent service & carefully packing the dinner we could not finish. We will definitely be back.
I've been going here for 20+ years. It's sad to say that quality went down tremendously. I used to love the marathon salad with a sweet light dressing. Now it's seems like a heavy mayo dressing which is not appetizing. My souvlaki pita was okay, the bread was very stale. This happened from my last few visits. I don't think I will be coming back unless the recipe is back to what it used to be. Good luck!

Went there a few days ago & ordered the chicken pita gyro plate & the fried calamari . The chicken in the gyro was super dry & not fresh so they put so much seasoning to make it seem better. Used to love coming here with friends. Maybe it was an off night but i was really disappointed.
My souvlaki on pita with fries & fries was good & tasty & didn't disappoint. I hadn't been to Marathon souvlaki in years & it was nice to be back. Staff were great.
Lunch special was basically regular price lol, but we got the gyro plate & pita. Very good 😊 checkout us out at @mtlfoodbros on IG/tik Tok for our review video :)
It has been many years since I have been to marathons.... It was as tasty as I remember. They give pita instead of bread now, but it was all delicious.

Honestly I have been going there since the age of 12 & now I am 47. First time I'm highly disappointed. They change their garlic bread to a PITA bread ..that's a very bad move. You can't change the legend food. I'm pretty sure people loved their garlic bread & most of them use to go there to eat that b4 having their meal. First off all they change the size of the bread & now they completely replaced with PITA . I really didn't appreciate this at all. You have raised your price drastically & cut down on my favorite part of Marathon Souvlaki food. Really not impressed at all. I don't think I ll ever go back to eat there untill bread is back . When I told this to waiter . He really didn't care about my suggestion & my dissatisfaction. He goes to me you only come here to eat BREAD . **im like what kind of question is that ** He also told me that this bread is DISCONTINUED. Do you want me to laugh on this BIG LIE. I just couldn't believe it ... Than he told me oh everything is getting so expensive so we had to change it. Than i told him how PAPPOU SOUVLAKI is serving the same bread . I just couldn't believe & I left ....
Usually very good & consistent. Now they changed the bread from thick garlic toast to pita & the iconic salad dressing is no longer the same. That's like when Coke changed their recipe. It ruined a great thing. & on this occasion we arrived to pick up our order but they had forgotten one plate so we had to wait & since the rest was ready, everything was cold. The salad dressing change is really the biggest disappointment.
I've eaten here since they opened, back around'94-95. I just realized, I've eaten here for 30 years... over half my life! Always delicious, fresh & consistently good food, always generous portions, not expensive & the decor is nice & family friendly. I can't get enough of the doner meat & calamari. Now that I'm older & can't actually finish an entire platter on my own, I order a two-pita platter & that's plenty for two of us to eat til we're full & there's still salad & potatoes left. Mmm.

Grew up in Montreal & live in Calgary now, but am here for my yearly pilgrimage. Was introduced to Marathon 20 some years ago & always eat there at least once on my return to town. The food is awesome & the portions huge!!!! Ate there tonight with my sister. She had a souvlaki pita , I had the gyro plate...far from disappointed!!!!!! It was great!!!!! Our waiter Martin was also awesome, very friendly, talkative & efficient. Thank you sir. This is one of the best restaurants in Montreal & possible the whole country!!! A must visit!!! Thank you for an unbelievable meal & experience. You guys knock it outta the park every time!!!!! Cant believe there is one bad review.......some people are just complainers.....
We have been eating here for several years. Always friendly service. The food is delicious. Generous portions. I love their chicken stick platter! Their chicken pita platter is just as good!
Whether you choose to dine in or opt for takeout, you can always expect excellent service & consistently high-quality food. I highly recommend the marathon salad with the gyro pita!
Nice & authentic Greek food served in large clean resteraunt with very helpfull staff... our group had many of the appetizers & pita sandwiches & found them all well prepared & tasty.
Went here for lunch, well worth it. These are huge portions for the price - I got the chicken pita with a salad, some potatoes & rice (you can request for half/half). All of the Greek flavors seem to explode in your mouth once you dive in. Waiter was polite too.
