We have a location in Toronto, but the first time I tried Mandy's is at this location in Montreal. I never thought I'd go to a salad bar or restaurant because I figured, what's the big deal with salad? However, my sister really likes salad so I took her here because well Mandy's is known for salad.
I was actually impressed! I got a steak salad & the greens were really fresh & there was a lot of salad in my bowl. The quantity is a lot & I wasn't sure if I could even finish it. Yes, I was almost not able to finish a bowl of salad. They are very generous with the portion for the price you pay & the dressing is actually quite good. I felt like a rabbit the whole time & my sister really enjoyed her salad.
The customer service is also very kind as well which I appreciated. They offered to make my sister another salad because of a potential allergy but it wasn't needed.
If you're looking for a healthy lunch & to get your veggies in, Mandy's salads is the spot! I would definitely probably go again!
I'm a big fan of Mandy's & I always get the Crunchy sesame with mock chicken. I tried this salad at this location & it was quite disappointing. I found that the greens were very bitter, mock chicken portion was very small & there was barely any dressing in the salad. I asked for some on the side & the stuff were kind enough to give me extra dressing. I paid 31$ & I did not feel like it was worth it. As for the service it was good, & the place itself was nice.
I ask fo extra & I don't feel I got what prayed for . The should not close the bag when you go to pick it up to check if the order is correct. I had problem with my order serval time. Mandy's no more
Mandys Gourmet Salads was a delightful & unexpected surprise during my visit to downtown Montreal. I wasn't specifically looking for a salad spot, but I'm so glad I found this one, located at 1241 Rue du Square Phillips, just off Saint-Catherine Street.
The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, cozy, stylish, & full of charm. I was warmly welcomed upon entry & chose to sit by the large bay windows, which made for perfect people-watching while I waited for my meal.
I ordered a generously portioned, seasonal salad that was both vibrant & delicious. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the flavors well-balanced, & the dressing complemented everything perfectly. It was also quite filling, which was a pleasant surprise for a salad!
My server was kind & accommodating, contributing to an overall excellent experience. I especially loved the ambiance, relaxed, inviting, & full of little design details, including a lovely tree in the center of the space (whose name I've since forgotten, but it added a beautiful touch!)
Highly recommended if you're in the mood for a light, satisfying meal in a lovely setting, & a great spot if you enjoy people-watching in the heart of the city.
I've been eating Mandy's for the past decade even though I'm constantly disappointed by them. 20$ takeout bowl for a small portion that left us hungry. I had to go home & add a bunch of ingredients to make it feel like a meal. Besides that, I love their dressing options & they've been pretty consistent at getting the orders right lately (new for them)
I never leave reviews but i had to. I have been to MANY Mandy's - but none like this one. The entire staff was SO friendly, happy & welcoming. Not only the people up front, but it even looked like the ppl in the back were vibing. I LOVE SEEING HAPPY EMPLOYEES. Will be coming back
I've been going to Mandy's for quite a few years now & it's wonderful when you go in person. But DO NOT do takeout/uber eats. The portions are tiny & not worth it for the price you pay altogether.
Mandy's are always good, this spot didn't dissappint, my first time there & it was good & my order was yummy 😋 I ordered to take out.
I have always been a huge Mandy's fan. I love most of their salads & I often come to this location. Unfortunately, whenever I pay for extra mock chicken or avocado, I can rarely tell the difference between a salad with no extra (except for the price!) & the one with extra mock chicken & avocado. It still delicious but quite disappointing. When you pay 25-30$ for a salad, you expect more. but let's be honest, besides that l love them.
The girl at the counter on the day i went wasnt very approachable & was almost annoyed to take the orders & answer one or 2 questions on the salads. I didnt appreciate that attitude. The salads are ok but way overpriced. I remember years ago Mandy's salads had much more heart in them when they were still small, now it seems quickly & less freshly prepared. Place itself is good next to cinema but small
Best Mandy's in town. The service is just amazing, food delicious, definitely best spot to eat yummy & healthy :)
This is one of the smaller Mandy’s locations next to the Alexis Nihan Mall downtown. While the locations on Crescent & in Old Montreal are objectively more beautiful, the staff are always very nice & helpful.
It does seem as though the menu recently changed to highlight the build your own salad option. I used to appreciate the veggie menu but the vegan options are still clearly labelled.
All of the salads I have had have never disappointed & I often find my self craving a teriyaki salad. The portions are massive & I am always full with extras left over for later. The biggest downside is the constantly climbing price. I think the cheapest salad option is around $15 plus tax & most run for over $20 now. Then in addition to paying for every modification made to the salad or with the build your own salad option, the end product can really cost an arm & a leg. I mean today I was waking by & stopped to grab a salad & the price for two & lemonades ran more than what I pay for a meal at a nice restaurant minus the alcohol (approx $75).
I understand that inflation has taken a hit to everyone & that Mandy’s has managed to maintain the flavour despite the changes, however it has always been a pricy place & the further price hikes are getting a little out of hand.
Suggestion: what if Mandy’s starts offering half sizes or reduces the portion size. I never see anyone finish the salads anyway & I would rather pay $12 for a half salad than $20+ for something I can’t finish.
