Made reservation for my sister's birthday. Parking is about two minutes walking distance. It is about a $20 fixed price. When we got there the first thing that caught my attention is that the place is much more smaller than what you would think from looking at their social media. It wasn't bad for us because we actually wanted to have a moment just to chat between sisters. Food was very good. The drinks were also good. I have to say that the service was very long. We did not matter because it was our mom night out . We enjoyed our time & we spoke the whole time without thinking about going home to the kids. The staff was more than friendly. I really appreciated interaction which each one of them. It was my sister's birthday & she got to choose her music for when they brought the cake. I think this is a very nice gesture If you are looking for a small intimate place for a date with your special person, this is the place .
The staff at MAKAO made us feel so welcome! The booking process was seamless, & the oysters with kimchi mignonette were incredibly fresh & flavorful, Five Star.
The graduation celebration at Makao couldn't have been better! Our server, Jay, was attentive & friendly. The atmosphere made the day special. The rock shrimp was delicious, & we loved the Dragon Margarita! Highly recommended for celebrations!
Celebrating my promotion at Makao was the best choice! Our booth was cozy, & the vibe was perfect. Jay provided excellent service. The Le Royal cocktails were delightful, paired beautifully with the lamb lollipops. 100% recommend!
What a lovely surprise party at Makao for my husband! Our booth felt so private. Bianca was our server, & she was such a gem! The Japanese Bedsheet cocktails were the best! The striploin steak was a highlight, too. Perfect night!

Food: best way to describe it is like airport/convention center food. Description sounds good but the execution is poor. Fried rice was awful - tasted like frozen veggies, the wrong kind of rice, bad spice/sauces, & we didn't know the chicken would be fried. The bang bang fries were pretty good flavor, chicken was a little overcooked, but edible. Beet salad was fine but nothing special. Overall we felt it was very overpriced for what we got. We were tucked into a corner & had to ask for water refills three times (leave the pitcher, give us bigger cups, or make sure to include the hidden table in the water rounds.) Service was pretty non existent. Very beautiful decor but sadly...would skip this one!
I was a bit disappointed by the Roasted Beet salad. It's described as Roast yellow & red beets, Cherry tomatoes, Parmesan Reggiano, Figs, Red onions, Apple cider vinaigrette. However, there were no figs in the salad! :( The Vegan wild mushroom dumplings were good (carrots, green beans, shiitake). The dipping sauce is savoury, slightly spicy & tangy. Good enough to eat with rice. :P The restaurant is a bit small but with a beautiful setting.
Dining at MAKAO is not just a meal; it's an experience! From the decor to the plating, every detail is carefully curated. I recommend it enough for a special night out.
MAKAO provided an excellent dinner experience. the ambiance was both refined & relaxing. The reservation system was efficient, & the service was attentive throughout the evening.
Dining at MAKAO was an exquisite experience.the ambiance was both intimate & elegant. The reservation process was seamless, & the attentive service made the evening truly special.
The food here was amazing however the service was extremely slow, we waited over an hour for our entrees & then again for our meals, certain people in our group never even got their entrees, when asked to bring out the cake it took over 30 min to do that & then an additional 30-45 minutes to get it served. They were not overwhelmed with customers either. There staff was friendly but never apologized for the wait & had more of it doesn't matter attitude throughout the night. They seemed to not know how their system works as just printing the bills took over 20 min. They seem very new & a bit lost at what they are doing, they definitely need to improve their service before I think of going back.
