Hidden gem in Chinatown & has delicious food. Inside is small so it is good to call & book a reservation during peak hours. Our host Antoine was great & described the menu in detail.

We're visiting from Ontario, & Antoine provided excellent service-he took the time to explain the menu & gave great recommendations. He was friendly, attentive, & professional.
The food was delicious, & the restaurant was clean with a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Really delicious food. All of the starters were fantastic, the baos, sticky ribs, & general tso. We got the shandong noodles as a main, it was tasty & good char from the grill, but could use some more sauce / flavor!

Went for a birthday dinner & had a great time! Our waitress Valda was great super attentive & kind, she was super accommodating to all our needs! The service was quick & easy, the food is pretty good-decent proportion & the drinks were really good!!

J'avais réservé une table pour samedi. C'était pour une occasion spéciale, alors j'avais de grandes attentes & la barre était haute. Ce souper était vraiment important pour moi, je voulais que ce soit un moment mémorable.
Au final, tout s'est déroulé exactement comme je l'avais imaginé.

C'est un beau restaurant & le service est très bon. L'entrée & le dessert étaient délicieux, mais nous avons moins apprécié notre plat principal. Pour ma part, le steak manquait de saveur & je n'aimais pas la sauce d'accompagnement.
I want to share my experience at Makao to give others a clear heads-up before deciding to go.
This was my first visit, & I went with guests from out of town, so expectations were naturally high. Walking in, the decor is genuinely impressive-very clean, upscale, & it absolutely gives off a luxury dining experience. Based on that alone, you expect the food quality to match.
Unfortunately, it didn't.
The food across the board was very bland. The steak was poorly seasoned & not very tender, & the lobster lacked flavor as well. For the price point, the portion sizes & overall quality just didn't add up. It felt overpriced for what was served.
To be fair, the service was good, the staff were professional, & the restaurant itself was clean. Also, the drinks were the one highlight of the night.
I always give positive reviews when they're earned, but I also believe in being honest when they're not. Everyone at our table left disappointed, especially given how strong the first impression is when you walk in.
Just something to keep in mind if you're considering going-don't let the decor set expectations too high for the food.
