Mais quelle extraordinaire découverte! Tellement plate que l'emplacement soit un peu caché car il a le mérite d'avoir du cachet! L'ambiance un peu style lounge nous a immédiatement séduit. C'est un endroit à 45 places assises donc très kozy & calme. Le décor est vraiment beau!
Que dire de la nourriture. 15/10. On nous a servi très rapidement, tout était chaud, joli & tellement goûteux. Nos attentes ont été clairement surpassées ! Le service était courtois & patient car nous avions plusieurs questions sur le menu. L'ambiance entre les serveuses & la barman semblait le fun & relaxe.
Le seul petit bé-mol que je pourrais apportez c'est que nous avons senti un peu de pression pour acheter des consommations alcoolisés. Les 3 personnes sur place sont venus nous le demander & plusieurs blagues sur le fait que nous n'en prenions pas. Nous nous sommes un peu prêter au jeu mais considérant notre facture de 130$ sans boisson, nous trouvions cela un peu de trop.
Sinon, je vous recommande FORTEMENT cet endroit, nous y retournerons assurément!!!

I had an absolutely incredible experience at Makao in Montreal. From the moment we walked in, everything felt elevated - great atmosphere, amazing energy, & top-tier service.
Our waitress, Vlada, was truly outstanding. She was attentive without being overbearing, incredibly friendly, & made the whole experience feel special. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests, & it made a huge difference.
The food was just as impressive. I ordered the Szechuan steak, & it was cooked perfectly - tender, flavorful, & exactly what I was hoping for. Every bite was spot on. & the Dragon Margarita… wow. Easily one of the best cocktails I've had - bold, balanced, & absolutely delicious.
Between the service, the food, & the drinks, this place knocked it out of the park. I would highly recommend Makao to anyone visiting Montreal, & I'll definitely be back.

We're visiting from Ontario, & Antoine provided excellent service-he took the time to explain the menu & gave great recommendations. He was friendly, attentive, & professional.
The food was delicious, & the restaurant was clean with a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Delphine was incredible. She was so kind & accommodating. The lychee martinis were delicious. The vibe in the restaurent was chic & contemporary, with an upbeat music curation. Meh.... First time at this restaurant, will not go again or recommend. The food was flavorless to ok max. The cocktails tasted like there was barely any alcohol in them. The atmosphere was a bust as well. Tables are cramped together & the aile to walk back & forward in the restaurant was right behind your seat.
Another review said it perfectly = an attempt to appear upscale.
The service was just ok, the waitress explained the menu like it was a race & the rest of the service felt very awkward. She was still very polite & nice... but nonetheless awkward. At first we thought the prices might be ok, but the lack of flavor made it seem like a waist of our money & time. Very disappointed, good marketing though on Instagram .... cuz it really fooled us !
Very nice place.. Small & cosy.. Music wasn't too loud which I was really happy with. I got the Japanese bed sheet cocktail & I loved it. As for meal we took all the appetizers plus a truffles fries & were able to share in 4. My only negative point, dessert selection. Otherwise Totally recommend
