We tried the very well seasoned curry, fried chicken, mayo dips , braised pork, & omelette rice - all yummy! Nice portion & presentation. Will be back!
Where is the new location? My colleagues & I used to order the Chicken Katsu Curry & loved it, we are going to miss it.
Way too dark inside, the fried chicken was literally half burnt, & everything else tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave or air fryer. Definitely not worth it.
I've been to MajesThe 10+ times over the past year, & it is by far one of my favourite bars in Montreal. There is a nice variety of great food, but the grilled chicken (available for dinner only) particularly stands out. That being said, the staff at MajesThe are really what makes this place shine. They always provide exceptional service, even when they are super busy & managing large groups. & the vibes for Friday night karaoke (starting at 8pm) are always S-tier! Genuinely, I cannot recommend this place enough.
Karaage Chicken was a HIT! Sooo good, 10/10. Lu Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice) was very flavourful & delicate, a HIT! Decent portion & affordable too. Servers were very friendly. Cocktails were a tad bit small though.
Amazing Taiwanese & fusion cuisine with big portion sizes & creative cocktails (including spiked BBT). Service was top-notch & friendly, & it's so convenient (right next to McGill & the metro), making it a top bar in Montreal. The only thing is that people may not know about it since it's underground, but don't let that deter you. From the second you're seated, it's a great experience. I loved the fried chicken, truffle fries, & juicy baos the most, but pretty much everything on the menu is a hit. I always swing by when I'm in the area.
The photo doesn't really do it justice. Great value for the quality of food. I suggest the omurice chicken Katsu curry or the pork belly bun.
Very filling & the price would be 5-8$ more at other restaurants, especially in the plateau area. It's in the basement but it has a cozy vibe, & I went on a Saturday & they had a free jazz band.
I tasted the lychee spritz was good also, it's good for non alcoholic drinkers as well.
Younger crowd, great place for either a date or chill vibes with friends.
Also inexpensive Japanese whisky flights. Great value overall & decently large menu.
The truffle fries were yummy.
A Really nice discovery, We weren't sure we were in the right place at first. We followed the signs after some stair behind a strange wooden door to find this amazing restaurant. The food was good, the service was quick & the ambiance was cozy. I had the chicken katsu curry omurice it was good, the only downside was that the curry was a bit to liquid & the chunk of potatoes where realy huge. My girlfriend took the chicken karaage salad bowl it was a bit spicy but not to much & we split an sides of 4 takoyaki.
The chicken curry rice was good. The atsmosphere was so amazing. I love how people can sing & vibing at this place 🫶😘
Even though it's a bar, the main dishes are surprisingly delicious! I especially love the Taiwanese Basil Fried Chicken-it's super authentic! The new Salt & Pepper Pork Ribs with Rice is also amazing! The honey-based sauce that comes with it is really special, definitely worth a try! The egg fried rice has a great wok flavor, & the spicy option uses fresh chili peppers, which shows how skilled the chef is. The service is also great-very friendly! Overall, it's a restaurant with great value for the price!
This place is a complete diamond in the rough & I don't know why it's not more well known. Food & Drink: As the child of Taiwanese immigrants, I'm pretty picky when it comes to Taiwanese food. MajesThé's food is absolutely TOP NOTCH. Everything we had was good but highlights include the beef noodle soup, the Japanese chicken fried udon, & the Taiwanese basil fried chicken. They also have a great beverage program with delicious & creative cocktails using a lot of East Asian flavors you don't usually see. Service: Amanda, our server, was awesome. She had great energy & did a great job managing a table of 8. 4 of our table had gluten allergy/sensitivity & she did a great job making recommendations on dishes, amounts, etc. to make sure everyone was well fed. Our water cups were never empty, we never had to wait to order drinks, & the food arrived promptly without any mistakes. 5 stars for Amanda (If management sees this, she needs a raise) Vibe: Last but not least, the vibe was immaculate. It straddles the line of lively & chill in a great way. It's relatively dimly lit with a great mix of lounge seating, tables, & high tops. There was a great live band playing the night we were there playing funk/rock fusion. My friends & I loved it here & will make a point to visit anytime we are in Montreal.
I very like the environment there. Its calm & such a vibe😍.The food was pretty good.I got the chicken curry omurice & kimchi pasta. I just wished the chicken was less dry. Other than that it was yummy👩🏻🍳!Plus the service was very good.
The cocktails were fantastic & the food was really good. I had calamari bit greasy but good, braised "3 cup" chicken that was recommended, & did not disappoint. I also had the sesame balls for dessert. Service forgot one of my drinks but made up for it with a free round for our table. Overall, it's definitely has a cozy bar vibe. My issue with it was the atmosphere. Bathrooms were so dark that you needed those big night vision glasses from Jurassic Park. & the seating was these tiny metal stools. It's not the best for long sitting. I do recommend it, though.
This used to be one of my favourite spots & I would always go there for the chicken karaage & wednesday cocktail deal, but my experience yesterday was very poor in terms of the food & drink quality. The chicken karaage was 60% burnt to the point that you could see it being black on most spots, & even with the sauce it tasted burnt as well - nothing like what it is usually. The drinks barely had any taste of what they were described as on the menu & were super watered down, proof of which I saw as I witnessed the bartender making the drinks in front of me with 25% actual content & the rest as ice. Very disappointed & not likely I'll go back again as the quality seems to have gone down
The fried rice is way too oily. Other than that the chicken with basil was good. The yuzu sauce for the skewer is a pleasant surprise too.
I really enjoyed the meal I definitely recommend getting the pork belly Bao & the Taiwanese fried chicken 😋
Not sure if they even have Tofu Curry Omurice or not but the two times I order from this place, I've gotten Chicken twice. Once on UberEats, & once for takeout. Somebody needs to get it together. Dined in once & it was so loud I could not even talk to the person across from me.
Very cute hidden place under ganarada. Food was great, service was excellent, cocktails were delicious. Everything was perfect! We got the Kalbi beef (highly recommended), the pork baos (amazing), the special shrimp baos (delicious) & the three cup chicken (my least favorite). Go!!
