I'll be adding Maison Inja to the regular restaurants we go to!
The food is DELICIOUS! Authentic Persian dishes that are definitely made with love ❤? the service was also amazing & the decorations are gorgeous. The exposed brick, wallpaper, & light fixtures all went so beautifully together!
You can try a selection of traditional Iranian dishes at this restaurant, customized to suit all tastes.
The dishes are well prepared & delicious.
The restaurant offers a pleasant, cozy atmosphere with warm & attentive service.
The price of main dishes starts from around 32 CAD.
The coziest spot in Montreal to enjoy amazing dishes by your Persian grandmother. Their specialty rice dish, Tahchin, is so satisfying. & the Persian Fog tea is like a hug in a mug. Will definitely be back. Not many tables so reservations are def needed for dinner!
Amazing food & a great vibe! For the quality of the experience, the prices are very reasonable. They also have a nice, affordable wine list with options that pair really well with the dishes.
Maison Inja truly feels like home the moment you walk in. The cozy atmosphere & warm décor give you the sense that you're visiting a friend's house rather than a restaurant. The dishes are infused with beautiful aromas of saffron, making every bite comforting & flavorful. On top of that, the staff are incredibly welcoming & attentive, making you feel like part of the family. Both the quality & presentation of the food are outstanding it's a perfect combination of hospitality & excellence, highly recommend!
I was really impressed by this restaurant. From my past experiences with other Persian places, I expected good food ,but this was on another level. The menu is based on real home style recipes, & the flavors reminded me of dishes made by my mom , rich, aromatic, & full of character. The quality of the ingredients stood out right away. You usually only see this level of quality in very expensive restaurants, but here it comes at a fair & reasonable price, which makes it a great value. The décor was beautiful, with a warm & cozy atmosphere that felt welcoming & home-like. The service was also excellent .the staff were kind, attentive, & made the whole experience even better. As someone from the Middle East, where food culture is close to Iran's, I was very happy to find a place in Montreal that stays true to authentic flavors & traditions. This restaurant is a real gem, & I highly recommend it.
Very different, amazing food, beautiful setting, iconic dishes. Definitely restaurant to try.
A Trip to Persia in the Heart of the City!
Dining at Maison Inja felt like being transported straight to Tehran. From the moment you walk in, you're embraced by a warm, elegant atmosphere with Persian music, soft lighting, & subtle details that reflect true Iranian hospitality.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was a celebration of flavor & tradition. The saffron rice was fragrant, you can taste the love & authenticity in every bite. The desserts are simply divine.
Service was attentive & kind, & the staff took the time to explain the dishes & make you feel like a welcome guest in their home.
Maison Inja is more than just a restaurant - it's a cultural experience. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to discover (or reconnect with) the beauty of Persian cuisine & hospitality.
Maison Inja offers some of the most delicious traditional Persian dishes in Montreal. Every plate is full of rich flavor, with an unforgettable touch of saffron in every bite. Highly recommended for anyone who loves authentic Persian food.
Super cute Persian restaurant with lots of charm. We really enjoyed the ambience & the creative take on tahchin! We were a bit worried reading some of the reviews but the tahchin (kebab digi & chicken eggplant) were delicious. They are not your usual tahchin dishes - lots of aromatics that made the dish more complex & enjoyable. Highly recommend giving a try!
Lost a few points because of the pricing (not insane but the prices could be more reasonable for what they are).
Maison Inja was my first try to Persian food, I left very satisfied already planning my next visit. The dishes are thoughtfully crafted & the drinks was the best I've ever had. Service was impeccable- friendly & attentive without being overbearing. A must visit for anyone who appreciates quality food & a cozy yet refined atmosphere.
From the very first bite, we knew we were in for a treat! We ordered the kebab Digi & the Meat & Eggplant Tahchin, & both were absolutely delicious. The tahdig was perfectly crispy, & the flavors were rich, aromatic, & well-balanced. The dishes came with a variety of sides, adding to the experience. On top of that, our waitress was incredibly warm & welcoming, offering great recommendations. The cozy & beautifully designed space made the meal even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic & flavorful dining experience!
Delicious & flavourful dishes with a lot of originality added to authenticity. Great atmosphere, lovely decor & a solid wine list!
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a cozy & warm environment, & the food is aesthetically pleasing - but this is where the positives end. When you first sit down, you'll notice still or sparkling water bottles on the tables by default, which you'll be charged for if opened. The restaurant seems to employ every trick to extract maximum money from guests. They only bring the drink menu initially, claiming they want guests to order drinks first, & we had to wait 15 minutes to get the full menu. The appetizer portions were absolutely tiny, with less than a palm-sized portion of bread (which costs extra if you request more). The prices are very high, & unfortunately, the quality doesn't justify them. It's essentially an above-average place trying to charge fine dining prices. The rice dishes were heavily doused with rosewater, which completely masked every other flavor. The lamb shank was very tough, not soft & fall-off-the-bone as it should be. All the kebab dishes were disappointing since they don't have a real grill to cook them - they all had a gray color & were rather tough with occasional burn marks. The desserts, some of which weren't available, were quite underwhelming. Overall, if you've never had Persian food & mostly care about presentation & ambiance, you might be okay with this place. However, for anyone else, especially those familiar with Persian or even fusion Persian food, I suggest trying somewhere else, as the quality & prices don't match the aesthetics.
A hidden gem nestled in the heart of downtown Montreal, Inja offers a unique take on Persian cuisine that's unlike anything I've encountered elsewhere in Quebec. Despite visiting during an off-hour when the restaurant was empty, the atmosphere was absolutely enchanting, thanks to its gorgeous vintage decor & thoughtfully curated music. As someone relatively new to Afghan-inspired flavors, I found the dishes to be a revelation, with intricate & deeply layered tastes that felt both unfamiliar & captivating. My meal & drink, both saffron-forward, were unexpectedly addictive, leaving me craving more with each bite & sip. One thing to note: the portions are generously sized, so come hungry! For anyone seeking a fresh & exciting culinary experience in Montreal, Inja is a must-visit.
Maison Inja, located on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal, is a Persian restaurant with a charming & welcoming atmosphere that sets it apart. The ambiance is warm & stylish, making it a delightful place to enjoy a meal. Their menu features some unique Persian dishes, including a variety of TahChins, which are rice-based casseroles traditionally layered with different fillings. We tried the spinach & chicken TahChin & the kebab digi TahChin. While both dishes were tasty & enjoyable, they didn't stand out as particularly exceptional or memorable. Additionally, the pricing seemed a bit high compared to other Persian restaurants in the city, which may be something to consider if you're on a budget. However, the overall experience was positive thanks to the excellent service & the pleasant atmosphere. Maison Inja is worth visiting if you're looking to try some Persian dishes in a refined setting, but it may not be the best choice for those seeking a more budget-friendly option.
absolutely incredible! Every bite was a delightful explosion of taste that left me wanting more. The dishes are so delicious, it's almost addictive. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experienc
I loved this place because it wasn't just the typical dishes you usually find everywhere! I got "eggplant & chiken tahchin" which i would recommend, it was honestly delicious & i can not wait to go back there again Overall a great lunch experience with great atmosphere! If you haven't tried this place yet you need to!
