The menu had limited options but food was delicious. I ordered the beef soup dumplings & the spicy pork soup dumpling 🥟! Would recommend this spot for a quick bite with some friends or solo vibes
I have tried this beef noodle twice, & I got stomach issues after eating it. I think you should enhance the food quality! The staff working there are really nice & the atmosphere is good .
Great food...my first time there & will definitely be returning. Soup dumplings were excellent & the Noodle soup with braised beef was exceptional. I highly recommend!!
We visited Maison Bao due to the reviews & also seeing a recommendation from insta but we were disappointed.
The restaurant was totally empty when we visited, yet when we asked to sit at a table that wasn't facing the sun (as it was a warm day) we weren't allowed.
The menu didn't provide details of what was actually in the food so we ordered the soup dumplings & beef & onion dumplings.
They tasted ok but there are dumpling places nearby which are better.
We found out too late that the beef & onion dumplings have mushroom (which I'm allergic to), but they denied & said it was woodear (a type of mushroom).
Suffice to say we will not be returning & do not recommend visiting.
Great spot for affordable, good value Chinese food. They offer dumplings, noodles, & soup casseroles. The space is spacious, clean, & gets a lot of natural light from large glass panels. We came for Sunday lunch & the service was quick & efficient - very much in the style of dining in Asia, so don't expect staff to check in unless you flag them down. You order via QR code & food comes out quickly.
We ordered the pickled cucumber, steamed beef soup dumplings, steamed pork soup dumplings, & the crispy pork & meatball soup casserole. The soup casserole was the highlight - packed with Chinese herbal flavours & lots of good ingredients. The dumplings were decent for the price ($5.99 for 6), though we've had better elsewhere & they did taste pre-made.
Ordered Braised beef noodles, Sichuan noodles & pork & cabbage fried dumplings. The broth of the braised beef noodles missed the mark for me tasting very much like chili oil. The Sichuan noodles were good but the main selling point was definitely the dumplings, they were big & juicy & tasted amazing.
I like the decor & cleanliness of the store. It's very easy to order using the QR code & its a great spot for students with their affordable options. We ordered the Sichuan noodles, braised beef noodles, & fried pork cabbage dumplings. I personally really liked their dumplings the most.
Went for a second time & was satisfied! Although I like spicy noodles in general, I wouldnt recommend the spicy beef noodle (i forgot the official name but i believe its the one with 2 🌶? sign on it). Its just painful spicy & not the tasty type of spicy.. at least I think so. Instead. I would recommend the shrimp one with peanuts on top, it was very good! Will go back to try the other type of noodles!
Also dont take the chive dumplings unless you know you like chives :)
Perfect experience dinning at Maison Bao. Ordered braised beef noodle, & the broth was amazing
Great casual spot for lunch downtown. We ordered the chicken noodle soup, 6 steamed beef soup dumplings, & the braised beef soup noodles. The braised beef soup noodles were the perfect for cold winter days lately. The broth was rich & flavorful, even after I asked for less spice. The service was great as well. Not only did we receive our food very quickly, but the servers regularly checked on us & offered napkins 🥟🙌
Excellent food!! Loved the pork soup dumplings & the spicy braised beef soup (so comforting & yummy)
