M. Poisson specializes in authentic Szechuan cuisine characterized by the bold use of numbing peppercorns and vibrant chili oils. The menu prioritizes fresh seafood preparations that highlight the natural textures of shellfish and various fish fillets. Patrons find complex flavor profiles ranging from aromatic garlic sauces to deeply savory fermented bean pastes. The preparation techniques adhere to traditional regional methods that emphasize high heat wok cooking to seal in moisture and preserve vibrant vegetable colors. Every dish serves as a testament to the spice-forward philosophy inherent in classic southwestern Chinese cooking traditions. This establishment provides a focused environment centered on communal sharing and the appreciation of robust regional gastronomy. The culinary approach avoids unnecessary ornamentation, allowing the quality of ingredients and the precise balancing of heat and umami to remain the primary focus.

Authentic Chinese food! It was delicious, perfectly spicy, & well prepared. I have eaten this dish & similar varieties in China & the US. Properly prepared. Thank you.
My friends & I enjoyed our noodle soup. The broth was so delicious. It's tangy with a slight citrusy, spicy taste. For the meat, I had the crunchy chicken bites. It was super good. Our server who was also the cashier was very nice & attentive.
Delicious & piping hot! Spicy chicken was perfectly crisp. Eggplant was soooo good &, we all loved the pickled mustard green fried rice! Wow, a must stop in china town. My favorite so far.
Fish stew was really good! Soft poached fish & you can also add other toppings as well. It's really not spicy at all. The fermented cabbages just add the right flavor to the dish. Really a good comfort food! Also I forgot the take the picture but their crispy pork was so so so good as well!
I was planning to eat at the Jade Buffet, but it's closed for 2 months, so I went across the street to La Belle Epicee. There was a sign advertising dishes for $14, so I chose the spicy chicken dish. There was an option to add 2 spring rolls & a drink for $4, so I did that. The spring rolls were the tiniest spring rolls I have ever seen! & the drink came in a can & it wasn't cold, so that was disappointing. The main dish was pretty good, but not that filling because the portion size was a little small. I was still starving after I had finished, so I went to the nearby Burger King & got a Junior Whopper trio to fill me up. My meal prior to the Burger King visit, including tax & a 15% tip, came to $23.72. If Jade Buffet had been open, I could have eaten as much as I wanted for only $1.28 more.
I really love their fried rice & noodles!!🤤& the portions are always a lot!! I think the Sichuan pepper flavor is my favorite & super spicy.
Love their taro & matcha drink too☺?
This is chinatown montreal. The noodle soupe avec Angus beaf at Le Belle Epicee is a fusion delight, with tender meat & flavorful Angus beef with rich, savory Chinese broth & pho noodles, offering a satisfying, hearty bowl with perfectly velveted beef that soaks up the balanced, complex flavors-a must-try here for those seeking asian flavors. The soupe is a little but spicy but just enough for me. The portion is big & can be for sharing. I also ordered citron lemon tea & very refreshing & for me good combo for the signature pho noodles soupe. Price is ranging from 15$ to 25$ per person but again maybe good for sharing. The people there are also accommodating.
Today, being sick, I decided to order something on Uber Eats from a Szechuan Cuisine to help ease my cold. I'm glad I decided on La Belle Épicée. I ordered an extra Spicy Sauerkraut Beef Brisket Slice Stew & a side of vegetable spring rolls.
The stew was generous in portion & very flavourful. It was spicy but not to the point it would make your buds burn. It had a good portion of meat brisket as well. I could literally feel my throat pain calming down as I was eating it.
The spring rolls had a tasty filling albeit a tad oily.
I look forward to ordering more from this restaurant.
I enjoyed my extra spicy General Tao's chicken & egg roll combo, food was very fresh & the sauce & spicy were very flavorful & authentic . Service was fast, food was hot, excellent choice & affordable. I will return when in Montreal.
This place is GOOOOD! I had the spicy pork stew & it was Very Spicy!! A very large serving too. Super-delicious!
They also have lots of non-spicy foods for kids & anyone else. A great place to go with anyone because there are tame options for people who don't want anything strange, & lots of unusual options for people who want to try foods you would not find in common Chinese restaurants. Lots of interesting fish options especially. Also great service, great vibe, & great sweet tea options.
