Review Summary

Reviews describe Lyla as a standout pho spot with a deeply flavorful broth, generous portions and great value, a calm cozy vibe, friendly fast service, and a wide Vietnamese menu that covers classics like tonkinoise, seafood soups, fresh spring rolls and banh cuon. The atmosphere and cleanliness are frequently praised, and the place is seen as ideal for quick lunches, family meals or gatherings with BYOB encouraged. While the overall sentiment is positive and many call it one of the best pho options in Montreal, a few comments point to occasional issues such as undercooked meat with delivery, oily or small portions on certain dishes, and a few menu items that did not meet expectations. Overall Lyla is often recommended for hearty authentic Vietnamese comfort with generous servings and a welcoming affordable experience.

Really good for its price range! You can eat really well for $20. The broth for their soups is made from beef bones & is simmered overnight. You can taste the difference in quality compared to other places in the city. Their grilled chicken Tonkinese soup hits all the right spots when I have a cold. The air circulation can be a little strong so I would recommend bringing a sweater if you're someone that often gets cold. The staff talks to people like they are old friends even if they just met. It's also a BYOB. I'd say it's actually one of my favorite spots to eat in the city.

We started to go this place 10 years ago. It became one of our "go to" vietnamese restaurant. Pho was delicious, BYOB. However, since we moved to the Southshore, we completely forgot about this restaurant. Recently we passed by, same owner, same staffs, food was still delicious & price is very reasonable! Thank you! Highly recommended!

I been client for lyla restaurant for about 3 years now & i really like their food, i'm a pretty constant client & in all thesse years the only thing it's been botthering me is this man who works there wich always treats me like i'm annoying him every time i call to order something he don't let me speak always rushing me today for example i called to order & he didn't even let me finish he hang up on me i had to call three times back an finally thank good somebody else answer, i ALWAYS receive this service from this man with no exception, i believe service is one of the most important parts in restaurant industrie along side with the food i don't really care about the looks of the place, i will strongly recommend the owners to teach some manners to this guy because the people is the reasson why your bussines is there & the RESPECT is the less thing you will expect from a serivce honestly this is the first time i say something about this, i am getting pretty tired.

LIVRAISON:

I was looking for a BYOW then i found this vietnamese restaurant. The interior is really nice & the staff are welcoming. I tried their papaya salad as an entree, it was tasty & refreshing. As a main dish I choose the vietnamese rice pankaces served with grill pork, delicious it was. My friend opted for the traditionnal "pho" she said it was great. I would recommend this place for anyone since its really affordable, plus you can bring your own wine or beer.
