Afficher toutmarket(100) fresh(54) atwater(37) cheese(36) local(29) shop(28) produce(25) canal(24) quality(20) vegetable(20) legume(20) vendors(19)Visited here to pick up a picnic for lunch. Loads of options: nuts, cheese, charcuterie, spreads, breads, cakes, fruit, maple products, crackers, cakes, salads, alcohol, soft drinks, crisps & more. Good, fresh quality. Fair pricing, a little expensive here & there. Lots of free tasters & people willing to help. Got a perfect picnic to enjoy
High prices. Perfect for rich yuppies. Nearby condo owners with IT salaries can afford it. The rest of us, well. ... ?.
Farm produce seems fresher than in some big chain stores, but pricier.
How many actual farmers are here, as opposed to middlemen renting stalls & THEY buy from the farms?
Recently bot cheese'on sale' there..reduced from $125/kg.!
However I admit. It was part of a package, 3 small cheeses for $18.
Exotic brands. We notuliced all is labelled in French only..in accordance with Quebec's increased efforts to extinguish all traces of English.

Looking for a feast for the senses in Montreal? Marché Atwater is the place to be! 🌽🧀🥖 Nestled by the scenic Lachine Canal, this bustling market is a local landmark & a must-visit for foodies, families, & anyone who loves vibrant city life. The atmosphere is always buzzing, with colorful stalls overflowing with the freshest fruits, veggies, flowers, & plants outside-perfect for a sunny stroll or picnic supplies.
Step inside the iconic art deco building & you'll find a treasure trove of local delights: artisan cheeses, charcuteries, butchers, fishmongers, & one of Montreal's best bakeries, Première Moisson, serving up heavenly pastries & breads. Craving a quick bite? The market's food court is packed with tasty options-from pizza & sandwiches to bubble tea-so you can fuel up & keep exploring.
Whether you're shopping for a special dinner, grabbing gourmet treats for a picnic by the canal, or just soaking in the sights & smells, Marché Atwater delivers every time. Friendly vendors, a huge variety of products, & a lively, authentic Montreal vibe make this market a true gem. Don't miss it! 🌷🍓🥐
One of my favorite places in Montreal, the smell, the food, the Character, what a great place to get the Freshest stuff you need....
Visiting Marché Atwater is a delightful experience. I spent time exploring the incredible selection of food, from artisanal cheeses to fresh fish & nuts, & couldn't resist picking up a few items. The variety & quality of products were truly impressive. After shopping, I enjoyed a slice of pizza & some coffee, taking in the lively yet cozy atmosphere. The market's location near the canal is a bonus - I walked along the scenic path & noticed many people biking with Bixi rentals or simply enjoying the area with a coffee in hand. While I live near Jean Talon Market & often shop there, Marché Atwater offers its own charm & is definitely worth a visit. It's a great spot to grab fresh, local goods & enjoy a relaxed outing in Montreal.
Atwater is great for fresh meats seafoods & cheeses all year. The fruit & veggies are less during the winter. Atwater is smaller than Jean Talon market. Easy to get to by bus or metro. Atwater is right next to the canal & one can walk & enjoy the sights.
What a gem of a market! Located in the charming section of Saint Henri, this farmer's market is a must visit. Next to the canal, it is easily accessible by bike or on foot. There are a variety of restaurants, local farmer's stalls, fromageries, a brûlerie, boulangeries, boucheries, & all kinds of interesting shops to explore. We come here often for fresh produce & gourmet meats & fancy viennoiseries.
Hello Foodies, can you afford to miss this one stop shop food market in Montreal ? This is a long standing outdoor market with good quality fresh produce. Established meats, poultry stores, desserts, coffee, cheeses, spices ....you name it in the building. On diet?!?
Love the Atwater Farmer's Market, always bussling, high spirits especially on weekends. Really good fresh produce. Love having a good brunch, doing grocery shopping, you can get your meat, coffee, cheese, pasta, anything. There is a famous pizza shop here, there is free parking too. Overall, it is an amazing experience.
The market is a boon to the city. Every time I walk through I am immersed in freshness, colours, sounds, vibrancy, smiles & so much more. Artisans, farmers & restauranteurs greet & teach you about their products & transform your purchases into an experience. The foodie corner is alive & a great way to share a meal with new & old faces while being treated to wonderful aromas. It is a must! Enjoy! I know I do.
It's a decent size, many shops.. but not quite as big as the market that is near my place. Also the market near my place has much more fresh unique ingredients & it's on my way to work.
Loved the market, great selection of cheese, fresh charcuterie. Great samosas, picked up a bread & had a picnic At the tables. Highly recommend fruits vege & everything else.
cute market... fresh vegetables & fruits... beautiful flowers & also a large selection of meat & cheese
What a wonderful place . Takes you back into the days where fresh farm fruits 🍈 🍉 🍇 were easy to get. No preservatives no artificial shine Loved the little hustle bustle around with aroma of cheese, fresh baked pizza, chocolate & coffee....💕felt like in a movie. The walk on the canal bridge with children & bikes. There were rentals available too.
Marché Atwater is a staple in Montreal. Right after Jean-Talon, it is the best market in this city. Whether you're here to buy fresh products like veggies, fruits, cheeses, meats or you want to grad a quick bite during your bicycle ride across the pittoresque Lachine Canal, I would highly recommend this place. During summer, there is even an exterior food court, although it is quite pricey & a flower maket with decent prices.
I have been to this market in over 15 years since I live a bit far from it. It has changed a lot in all this time. They have outdoor restaurants with delicious food. The stores inside are amazing with so many different selections on pretty everything from fresh pasta, bakery to spices. I enjoyed my visit!
Visiting Marché Atwater on a summer evening by bicycle was an absolute delight! The market is bustling with energy, & I had a fantastic time exploring the various stalls. I purchased some fresh cheese, bread, & cider, all of which were top-notch in quality. There is an impressive variety of meats & an abundance of fresh produce, perfect for those who are health-conscious or simply appreciate quality foods. Highly recommend this market for an enjoyable & wholesome shopping experience!
