Louis is an institution in Sherbrooke. They have been going since the 1940s. If you like junk food but not junk capitalism, I suggest you support this local business rather than places like McDonalds. The quality of fries at Louis is much better than McDonalds anyway (or any similar corporate fast food joint) as they are a little crispier & bigger, perfect in a poutine. If you are in Quebec on holiday & you want to try a poutine, Louis is a failsafe option: big portions, the right consistency & flavour of gravy, plenty of cheese curds so rubbery they clean your teeth, & fries of just the right consistency, that do not go too soggy in the gravy. The service is good too, & everything has a slightly old-fashioned & rustic feel. Even the order tickets seem to have an authenticity lacking in McDonalds & similar places (sorry Ronald). They are printed from a machine & not the till. Louis, can I have my free poutine now? (Just joking).

Oh wow!! Une EXCELLENTE Poutine. Généreux avec le fromage mais quand même pas exagéré. Tu en aura a chaque bouché. Il fait Squick Squick comme il faut & ne fond pas, donc super. Frites PARFAITE. Petit goût sucré en fin de bouche des patates. Croustillante malgré la sauce mais pas trop cuite. Chair de patate présente & bien cuit a perfection. Sauce excellente en bonne quantité aussi. Pas trop salé & ne camouffle pas le goût des patates. Une bouché parfaite à chaque bouché. Légèrement dispendieux: 33$ pour 2 moyennes poutine... Cependant ont ne le regrette quand même pas. Personnel super rapide & agréable.
