Review Summary

Overall, reviews portray L'Oeufrier as a cozy, family friendly brunch spot with generous portions and a playful menu, though some visits are tempered by crowded spaces and noise. Service is praised for friendliness and efficiency by many, yet a few readers report slower pacing and missed checks during busy periods or longer waits to be seated or billed. Food receives mixed notes: many dishes are described as delicious with creative twists and gluten free options, while a handful of meals arrive cold or with inconsistent quality. Ambiance is described as warm and welcoming when staff are attentive, but the compact space can feel crowded at peak times. Despite the occasional hiccup, the restaurant remains a popular choice for casual brunch or lunch with friends and family, valued for its substantial portions and overall experience.

We visited over Easter weekend, when many places were closed, so we were happy to come across this spot.

Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly, which made for a pleasant first impression. However, the space felt quite tight, with what seemed like more tables than the layout comfortably allows. This appeared to make it challenging for servers to move between tables, particularly when clearing plates, delivering coffee, & processing payments.

We also noticed that our food arrived before the coffee we had ordered upon being seated, which somewhat diminished the value of the'bottomless' coffee offering.

In terms of the food, the waffles & sausages were very good, & the smoothie was enjoyable. The potatoes, however, could have benefited from additional seasoning.

Overall, it's a reasonable option when choices are limited, but the atmosphere wasn't particularly conducive to a relaxed breakfast experience. We likely wouldn't rush back on a future visit to Montreal.

You know we're entering a recession when you pay $10 for 3/4 of a cup of smoothie.

Eggs, bacon & potatoes were good tho.

My husband & I were (pleasantly) overwhelmed with the extensive menu. We decided on a couple varieties of poutine. I ordered a Le Joe Cool smoothie & he a regular coffee. Our server gladly switched to English for us as my French still isn't up to par. The (Atateken) location is very small. It was hard to have a conversation so close to the next table. The food was pretty good but a little on the pricey side for the quality. We would visit again for another dish!
