I decided to try this L'hamburger location, as I had tried the other location on St Zotique street I had high expectations of receiving the same quality of food. Unfortunately I was very disappointed the first time the burgers were extremely salty, I could not finish it. But I decided to give it another shot, this time I experienced the same issue, the burgers were EXTREMELY salty, after examining the meat I could clearly see chunks of salt, the salt clearly is not being dissolved on the meat. The service was good & the workers were friendly. I think if they changed the type of salt they used, it would be 10/10.

My first true smash burger moment happened almost by surprise during a summer walk through downtown Montreal with my daughter, & I can still feel that excitement. The burger showed up wrapped in paper, no drama, no buildup. Then came the first bite, & everything clicked instantly. The patty was thin with boldly crispy edges that snapped before giving way to a juicy, intensely beefy center. It was pure, comforting, & completely addictive. In that single bite, my idea of what a burger could be changed forever. I did not realize it at the time, but that moment sent me chasing that same feeling, & it kept leading me back to L'Hamburger.
What truly sets L'Hamburger apart is its confidence in doing less & doing it better. There are no distractions, just skill, heat, & balance. The patties are smashed hard on a blazing flat top, creating that irresistible caramelization without weighing you down. The buns melt into the bite, the toppings feel familiar & perfectly portioned, & the sauces lift everything without stealing the show. Then there are the fries. The portions are unapologetically generous, to the point where I sometimes laugh & wonder if the hamburger has quietly become the side dish. Piled high, golden, & crisp, they are made for sharing, yet somehow always disappear faster than expected.
Over time, L'Hamburger has carved out a permanent spot in my personal Montreal food story. It is where I go when I want comfort with excitement, simplicity with soul. Nothing feels skimpy, rushed, or overthought. From the towering fries to the perfectly executed smash burgers, every visit leaves me full & genuinely happy. Familiar, crave worthy, & consistently hitting all the right notes, L'Hamburger is the kind of place that turns a casual meal into a small celebration. Take your taste buds to L'Hamburger. WOW!!!!! This place is off the hook! I ordered a lettuce wrap hamburger, & it was sooooo good, Fresh & oh! sooo good. Both the staff members who work there are just excellent, friendly, & very professional. I will make this place my go-to when I want a good hamburger... Thank you, boys. I loved being there & enjoying the great food.

The service was good, the burgers were overall good, but to be honest I found the very, very small cheese slides to be a bit off putting. Personally I like a cheese burger, but when only 1/3 of the patty has cheese on it, you're basically just eating a hamburger most of the time. Probably won't matter to many people, but to me it did.

Wow I have had a few smash burgers from many different places & this competes with the best of them. Patties were fresh & hot not to mention crispy & meaty. The buns were potato buns which were melt in your mouth soft but still held the burger together. I also like fresh sliced tomatoes with my burger which they don't serve but I didn't miss it at all. Definitely worth visiting L'hamburger to get your burger fresh & hot straight off the griddle.

The menu for the burger is simple only choose how much smash meat you want in it. The rest is for the milkshake. There are more choices for milkshakes than the hamburger itself. It was expensive for 2 burgers (one cheeseburger & the other one XL burger) & 2 poutine 60$. The taste was just ok. Very disappointed

Petite place à hamburger! La différence dans ce petit restaurant est que les boulettes de viande sont écrasés sur la plaque au moment de la cuisson. Alors ça crée un hamburger avec des galettes minces, croustillantes, assez goûteuse, bien cuite & excellente au goût! Il faut au moins deux galettes & c'est formidablement bien mangeable. Aussi la Portion de frite est très généreuse. Vraiment à essayer!

Hamburgers were good. Only problem is you can't order just a single patty of meat, they only serve 2 patties. Very limited menu. Seating is not comfortable. Parking is definitely a problem.

Smash hamburgers are so juicy that you'll need a dozen napkins as the juice rolls down your mouth onto your shirt. Everything is made fresh to order from the burgers that are amazingly crisp & juicy to the buns between them. The fries are the high-quality frozen type, & I was surprised because I prefer fresh potatoes, but these you've got to eat while they are crispy hot - they're quite good. They also make homemade milkshakes from hand scooped vanilla ice cream (not the soft serve ice cream, so get those cheeks ready for some serious sucking). All in all, I've got to give a nice thanks to Michael & Matthew. They are the dynamic duo here, & I'd give them a try when you've got a hankering for some fresh, crispy, juicy smash burgers. Yummy.
