french(57) brunch(44) tartare(42) steak(39) dessert(39) recommend(39) wine(36) pain(31) duck(31) salmon(26) sauce(25) beef(25)Great food & drink. The duck breast was amazing! & the steaks were great. We had beef tartare to start & it was also great. Didn't come with enough crackers & the children are several helpings of bread.
Great food & staff! Restaurant gets really crowded so make sure to have a reservation. The tables are a bit tight but it was still cozy! Came here for a double date & everyone enjoyed the food - as someone with celiac the choices were limited but the staff helped identify gluten free options (note: cross contamination is a possibility). All the gluten eaters raved about the French toast dessert & that it was the best thing ever!
First time at Leméac & hostess seemed very stressed. Let's say it wasn't a very warm welcome.
Food was a bit bland (in my opinion), but table service was top notch. That being said, it wasn't enough to make me want to go back.
Très bon restaurant.
Je recommande fortement les raviolis champignons & la glace coco basilic !
Meilleur Pain Perdu de ma vie, aussi le brunch à été magnifique 🤌🏻
We had two people dining here & this was our first time in Montreal. We tried various French cuisines, but Leméac was one of the places that disappointed us. Here's what we ordered:
- Calamari: Not very impressive, the taste is quite mild but it's nice if you're looking for something easy to start with
- Duck breast: We were very disappointed with this dish. The ingredients didn't work well together at all. As someone from Hong Kong, I found the Asian-French fusion quite strange. The sauces didn't soak into any of the ingredients, & the dumpling was very average from an Asian perspective. Overall, it felt overpriced
- Hanger beef: The fries were hot & fresh, but the beef was served cold, so the butter on top didn't melt. This was another disappointment
- French toast: This was the highlight of the meal. The toast was large, served warm, crispy & delicious w/ a great balance of maple syrup & ice cream
Overall, I found the quality to be average compared to other restaurants we tried here. The atmosphere can be quite noisy when the restaurant is full. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place, except for the French toast.
Came here for Sunday brunch & it was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the Smoked Salmon Poached Eggs & the Pain Dorée. Also reserve in advance as it can get very busy.
Everything about this place is perfect. Been going here for 15 years + & yet the service, food & atmosphere has never declined. My new favourite (I usually stuck with tartare & mussels) is the duck with wonton. Ouffff it's delicious. Pain perdu is a classic & must have every time. For whatever reason I always need to get their goat cheese salad. Nothing crazy but hits the spot every time.
Might be a hot take, but food-wise I enjoyed this more than L'Express. While Leméac does offer many of the same dishes, I found their's to be just a little higher quality & more masterfully done.
Simple, conviviale & chaleureux sont les mots pour décrire ce restaurant. Ce ne sera pas ma dernière visite.
Their tartare de saumon is always on point. Even the breakfast with shrimp & salmon was simple but good & filling. Always will go back for the pain perdu.
Amazing food. The fried calamari is delightful, I understand why the sauce is named goddess. Our waitress disappeared but lo & behold David saved the night ! Amazing evening. Thank you.
Notre serveuse était excellente( parcontre elle est a terminée sont quart de travail sans dire au revoir) david nous a donner un service excellent pour la fin de service! La bouffe 10/10
