Welcome to Le Vieux Dublin, Montréal's oldest Irish Pub. Located in the downtown core, the “Old Dublin” offers two bars, a seriously impressive list of imported and domestic beers on tap, an expansive food menu featuring award-winning burgers (some say they're the best in town), one of the best scotch lists on this side of the Atlantic and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that has kept customers coming back for decades.
Le Vieux Dublin Pub & Restaurant offers a warm, cozy Irish pub vibe with live music and a friendly atmosphere, and many reviewers praise the beer and whisky selection along with solid drinks; however, some diners note a menu that lacks finesse and occasional inconsistencies in food, such as orders forgotten or dishes that fall flat. The experience is described as welcoming and social, with service that is often attentive and personable, even when first impressions are mixed. The ambience can be lively and noisy at times, but the overall mood is described as authentic and enjoyable. Overall, it is seen as a popular spot for a pint and casual bites, drawing repeat visitors who appreciate the energy, the classic pub feel, and the promise of good times despite occasional menu or service hiccups.
Went in for a single beer & the bartender tries to make me feel bad for not tipping her. She said she doesn't earn enough so no tip is not appreciated, as if it's my responsibility to pay her wage. Extremely rude & entitled, would never go back again
The Old Dublin is a required stop for me as soon as I arrive in Montreal from Ottawa. My girl Arlene behind the bar always knows what I need - a tall crispy Guinness & to keep them coming. By far the best Guinness in all of Montreal. The vibe in the Old Dublin is the perfect quintessential Irish pub outside of Ireland. The clientele are fun & laid back, even after a long day at work. It is always a 10 star experience here! You know we will be back, Arlene! Looking forward to seeing you again!

Was looking into trying this pub for the first time, pretty terrible welcome, nobody comes to say hi or anything about seating us or being full at the moment.
We ended up asking the lady at the bar & she almost pushed one of us out of her way & then finally told us that everything was reserved.
She didn't offer to take our names or provide an estimate wait time she told us to go away'she is the bouncer'.
Good work ma'am enjoy your starry review I will not come back so there's no chances for it to change.
Arlene was the BEST. So funny, fun, & genuinely made our night. It felt like hanging out with a friend rather than just being served. She kept us laughing & took amazing care of us the whole time. We'd come back just for her.
Was there in April, great beer selection bartender was salty at first but she was actually really great & personable & loved us even being from Florida. I would highly recommend this ba
The ambiance was great, but the beer selection was rather average. There were no specialty beers, & I was expecting a wider choice of Irish beers. They only offer the standard options, which is acceptable but disappointing given the theme.
The service was mediocre. My nachos order was forgotten, & they only arrived after I asked twice. When they finally came, they were very disappointing. Even my five-year-old could have done better. Nachos without jalapenos are simply not nachos.
Happy hour menu is more expensive than regular menu.
Waitress charged me the price of a premium beer but I had ordered the local beer.
Be careful & watch your receipt ! Unfortunately I was in a rush to leave.
