Le Toasteur Villeray is a breakfast and brunch restaurant in the heart of Villeray.
While the Toasteur concept has existed for several generations and has had several locations, it is in the Villeray district that it found its second wind.
At the end of 2020, we chose to flip the table, literally and figuratively! From reorganizing the space to redesigning the menu, we decided to renew ourselves. This was possible thanks to a passionate team and especially thanks to the neighborhood clientele who have been showing us their love of brunch for over 10 years.
Le Toasteur Villeray comes across as a cozy, bright brunch spot with a warm neighborhood vibe and a second floor that adds space. Très bel endroit pour un déjeuner/brunch. Excellent service & que dire du menu qui varie au fil des saisons... tout est bon. Vivement recommandé. Ambiance resto de quartier chaleureux. Café latté à la cardamome mmmm délicieux
J'ai réfléchis une bonne semaine avant de mettre un commentaire, je voulais prendre le temps de décider si je devais garder ca pour moi ou le partager.... Si je devais simplement en faire part au proprio....
Je commence avec tout le positive, un bel endroit, un bon vibe, bien assis au 2e étage dans un resto plein. Petite famille avec jeune enfants & plusieurs couple. Bel accueil & service rapide pour prendre commande des breuvages, bien répondue a nos questions sur le menu. Bouffe excellente avec des items unique, on voit rapidement que la personne en charge du menu aime innové & réussi a le faire. Pour ses raisons je recommande se resto de déjeuné, sa vaut le détour.
Ce que nous avons moins aimer, le serveur. Nous sommes des gens dans la cinquantaines & nous & les autres clients, parfois dans la soixantaine avancé avons reçu des'toé' &'ayaye don' dans un language un peu trop familier. A la fin & avant de partir j'ai croiser discrètement le serveur pour lui demander si il'Tu Toi' tout le monde incluant les personnes âgés, que nous étions simplement surpris d'entendre ca car nous sommes nous même propriétaire d'un commerce & jamais un employés utiliserais un language aussi familier avec nos clients. C'est la réponse qui ma désappointer,'s'est mon style depuis tout le temps, je suis pas prêt de changer ca !!' Le ton avec arrogance ma dérangé.... Au point ou nous seront probablement pas de retour.
Bon, je vous voit venir, pas grave, tu t'en fait trop avec des formalités, tu es trop vieux......J'ai vu la face des autres clients d'une certaine age, pas l'aire a faire leurs affaire aussi, souvent on garde ca en dedans & reviens pas, alors pour cette publication j'espère que le proprio va le voir & rencontrer l'employé & peux être trouver un juste milieu entre un client de 20 ans & ceux plus âgés..... Le vous dans le commerce a toujours sa place.

Les assiettes sont généreuses & très bien présentées! Notre serveur était amical, attentionné & très professionnel. Dans le menu actuel, j'ai pris le'Béné forestier'; c'était frais & vraiment délicieux tel quel, même pas besoin de faire l'ajout de la sauce hollandaise! Le café est aussi excellent. On va y retourner, c'est certain! Je le recommande chaudement!!
Dropped by Toasteur Villeray for a midweek brunch around noon, & despite it being a weekday, there was still a lineup - a good sign that this spot is popular! Seating is quite limited, & since they don't take reservations, I'd recommend going earlier if you want to avoid the wait.
I ordered the'Brouillarde à la Marocaine' & asked to swap the goat cheese for halloumi (not a fan of goat cheese) - the staff was super accommodating with that, which I appreciated. The dish came with a fresh green salad topped with a few chunks of watermelon (a refreshing touch), & some nicely baked potatoes on the side. Overall, it was flavorful & satisfying.
The cozy vibe & solid food make this a brunch spot I'd definitely return to. Worth the wait if you have the time!
I ordered poutine déjeuner & matcha pancake they were delicious & tasty. the pancake tasted a bit bitter but overall I liked it & would recommend this place.
I'm not a Quebecian, but I visit Montreal regularly & this is the one place I always come back to! This brunch spot is just amazing, unlike anywhere I've ever been! Their hospitality is out of this world, their drinks are the most refreshing & their food is the tastiest with also a lot of vegan/vegetarian options 😋
I can recommend Quebecian or tourist to come here & have some brunch & enjoy the real taste of Montreal!!

Super service, excellente assiettes dans une ambiance conviviale. C'est un restaurant bien géré avec de belles valeurs. J'ai toujours passé un bon moment lors de mes visites, & je le recommande à tous!
Petit conseil : si vous êtes un grand groupe, prévoyez un peu d'attente avant d'être assis, car le resto est très populaire.
Amazing experience! The food was delicious. I highly recommend the béné végane chimi! It was a pleasure to meet the co-owner as well. Thank you for offering a delicious vegan menu!

Stumbled upon this place on our last day in Montreal, whilst tiny this place exceeded all our expectations. We had the most incredible breakfast! Highly recommend!
We arrived amidst a bustling crowd of eager patrons & were warmly welcomed by the excellent & friendly staff to this intimate spot.
Embracing the flavors of the season, we wasted no time in indulging in the offerings of the fall menu & immediately ordered a pumpkin spice latte (obviously). This is not your typical coffee with a small drizzle of cheap syrup. It is real, housemade pumpkin purée expertly blended into a velvety latte. This might be one of the best PSLs we've ever had.
Our meal choices were equally fantastic.
The Béné Mac n' Cheese with a harmonious fusion of decadent cheeses was as satisfying as it was delicious, especially when you add the secret menu item: smoked meat, to it.
Even the accompaniments proved to be delightful in their own right & not just filler. We savoured every last crumb of both the refreshing salad & breakfast potatoes.
We also ordered an extra side (because we have to try everything)-'Pain aux courgettes' highlighted by a truly exquisite house-crafted pumpkin jam.
We wholeheartedly recommend a visit. There may be a little wait (standard for brunch on a weekend, which is when we went), but we promise it's absolutely worth it.
