Le Surcouf est une adresse française traditionnelle très appréciée pour sa cuisine délicieuse, son service impeccable et son cadre chaleureux dans une vieille maison avec des espaces intimes. La carte des vins est remarquable et les exigences alimentaires sont bien prises en compte avec des options sans gluten, ce qui en fait une valeur sûre pour les occasions spéciales et les dîners conviviaux. Bien que certains, parfois, trouvent les tarifs élevés et que le service puisse être plus lent lors des soirées très fréquentées, l'expérience globale reste mémorable et d'une qualité constante.
All aspects of this restaurant wrap into a most memorable experience. The food is consistently excellent — the four in our party ordered 10 different dishes — with inventive twists on traditional items, & the service is perfectly attentive without intrusion. Nestled in an historic house with original art on every wall, it is is a delight to all senses. This was my second visit to Le Surcouf — it is now a "must-do" every trip to the Montreal area.
We enjoyed Le Surcouf very much. Attentive & knowledgeable staff, great wine list & the food was delicious!! A great place for a celebratory dinner - we will definitely return!

Everything about the meal & the evening was perfect. The food is excellent & best of all is the staff always very attentive. They also always give you little extras to begin the meal & at the end. I was there once in January & then again this week I will definitely be going back next month. The owner chats with everyone & she is so gracious.
Very neat & gemutlich place with outstandingly friendly & attentive service. All courses were tasty, nicely arranged & cooked "à point". Great choice of apéritfs, cocktails & wines, too.
My husband & I were travelling through Montreal & found reviews of Le Surcouf on line. We were not disappointed. Everything was excellent from the friendly greeting from the hostess, the warm ambiance, the attentive staff &, of course the excellent food.

Pricey & worth it. This was a special occasion evening out. Great food & excellent service. Supper consisted of goat cheese encrusted in walnuts for an appetizer, veal scallopini as the main course, & chocolate mousse for dessert. We had a bottle of Chablis to go with it. The food was delicious. The serving of grapefruit ice in between the appetizer & the main course (to cleanse the palette) was a nice touch. Service throughout was attentive, yet unobtrusive. We will definitely return to celebrate special occasions.
Food was delicious, as usual. Great service, even if one of the young girls was new, she was so attentive & gentle! Love Le Surcof! Perfect for quiet romantic dinner!
Following an evening stroll along the boardwalk, three of us enjoyed a very pleasant dinner at Le Surcouf. Everything was beautifully presented & delicious. The server was friendly & attentive without being overbearing. The little extra touches were a fun surprise - chorizo & gouda mini muffins & artisanal bread before the appetizers, apple sherbet between courses & little sweet puffs to send us on our way. A very lovely evening & we will be sure to return when next in the area.
Dining at Le Surcouf is always wonderful! The food is superb, the ambience is second to none, & the staff is always very attentive. Would recommend this West Island gem to everyone.

We have visited Surcouf a few times this summer & each experience has been awesome. The selection of private importation wines is a delightful change from the restaurants. The food is beautifully presented & delicious. the wait staff are clearly a notch above most establishments - attentive, helpful & pleasant. Surcouf is the type of restaurant that you really want when you "go out" - a completely amazing dinner experience in a stunning environment. Thank you Dominique & staff!!
It has been way too long since we visited Surcouf. Our dinner was absolutely amazing. The steak tartare was delicious & the filet mignon was cooked exactly as requested - tender & so tasty. The service was attentive & perfectly timed & nothing was missing or overlooked. The extensive private importation wine selection made choosing difficult. We will be back soon!
The kitchen produces very good classic French style food, with some local inspiration, at a fair price. The wine list is solid, with interesting choices at various price levels, with many private imports - not the "usual suspects". The service is attentive & professional. I have eaten at Le Surcouf many times over the past 20 years, & have never been disappointed.
We & 2 other couples chose Le Surcouf for a belated celebration of the New Year. The food was excellent & the service very attentive . An attractive menu with choices for all tastes. Highly recommend.
Another great meal at Le Surcouf. Quality produce, presented well, cooked to perfection with attentive, but unobtrusive service. Everything you look for in a busy, quality restaurant. I try to come every time I'm in Montreal.
