Le Surcouf is a welcoming French restaurant established in a Victorian home for over 45 years now. Dominique and the chef Serge will be pleased to help you discover the fine French classic cuisine. In the fall the restaurant offers a special game menu in addition to their regular table d'hôte that you create yourself.
Le Surcouf consistently earns praise for excellent French cuisine, impeccable service, and a warm, elegant atmosphere in a charming old house with multiple intimate rooms. The wine list is excellent and dietary needs are well accommodated with gluten free options, making it a reliable choice for special occasions and relaxed dinners alike. While some guests note that prices can be on the higher side and that service can be slower on busy nights, the overall experience remains memorable and consistently high quality.
Très belle soirée, comme d'habitude. Le paillot de chèvre & la bisque ont été particulièrement appréciés. Les cuissons des plats principaux étaient parfaites. Le nougat glacé & le feuilleté fraises rhubarbe étaient un délice. On revient bientôt. Merci à toute l'équipe!
Excellent food & service. Warm inviting atmosphere full of caring, organized, experienced staff. Owner Dominique circulates amongst her guests during the evening. Food was perfectly cooked & respected our group's dietary preferences. A great time was had by all. Highly recommend!

Absolutely delicious, service was excellent, atmosphere was perfect & food was as good as it gets.I highly recommend Le Surcouf to anyone looking for a special evening out !
Beautiful old home restored to act as a fine dining restaurant. No more than 8 tables per room allowing for a quiet but social atmosphere. Service is that of fine French dining. Celiac awareness is incredible with options & warm bread (such a treat). Prices are affordable, especially for service you are receiving. Every dish was delicious. The rib steak was a little tough. But it was an exception & not the usual outcome.

Were seated again in our favorite space .. on the balcony. Food as usual was outstanding as was professionalism & courtesy of staff. Thank you. Great evening with friends.
Amazing little gem of a restaurant. Great menu, exquisite atmosphere, & very friendly staff. We tried their bistro menu & it was very well balanced. Great selection of wine. We are so happy to have this restaurant in our neighbourhood.
The atmosphere is warm & cozy. The building is an old house converted to a high end restaurant. Several dining rooms add to the intimate dining experience. Needless to say, the staff are incredibly attentive & very knowledgeable. Allergies are not a problem here, the staff bends over backwards to accommodate them. The food is perfection.
Nestled in the picturesque borough of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue on the West Island of Montreal, Le Surcouf is a gem that consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience. This French restaurant has been our go-to place for celebrating our anniversary for three years running, & it never fails to impress. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the Owner & Maître d'Hôtel, Dominique. Her charming & attentive nature added a personal touch to our evening, making us feel like cherished guests in her home. The service at Le Surcouf is impeccably timed, ensuring that each course is presented at the perfect moment, allowing us to savor every bite without feeling rushed. To start, my wife chose the "Crazy Salad," a delightful mix of fresh greens, vibrant vegetables, & a light, tangy dressing that awakened her palate. For her main course, she opted for the "Scallops with Leek Gratiné with Parmesan." The scallops were cooked to perfection, tender & flavorful, while the leek gratiné added a creamy, savory richness that complemented the dish beautifully. I began my meal with "Le Foie Gras," a luxurious appetizer that was decadently smooth & rich, paired with a delicate, slightly sweet accompaniment that balanced the flavors exquisitely. For my main course, I chose the "Veal Chop with Sautéed Mushrooms in a Cream Sauce." The veal chop was succulent & tender, with the sautéed mushrooms & cream sauce adding a depth of flavor that elevated the dish to a gastronomic delight. Every aspect of our meal at Le Surcouf was a testament to the restaurant's dedication to culinary excellence. The ambiance, enhanced by Dominique's engaging conversations, creates a welcoming & intimate atmosphere that makes each visit special. Le Surcouf is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary haven where exceptional food, outstanding service, & a warm, inviting atmosphere come together to create unforgettable dining experiences. It's no wonder we've made it our anniversary tradition, & we look forward to many more delightful evenings at this exquisite French restaurant.
Staff is great, food very ordinary, over priced, no presentation ,mashed potatoes, 2 bites & ur done,or 4 small round no seasoning potatoes, no effort, charge for bread, Why? How expensive is a baguette .several people at our table & all plates were just ok, on average with wine, entrée, 200$ per couple, meal should be an unforgettable meal.
