Food was all delicious, portions are very generous, esp the starters. Menu was varied.
Waiters are helpful but not overly well trained or well informed esp regarding wine choices. Service was prompt however.
Seems like a young crowd favors this place.
Group of 3, we went for MTL à Table! It was a very good tasting menu! The portions were pretty big considering it was 4 courses. The gnocchi & short rib were fantastic! The Staff, decor & vibe are great- there was just a super extra loud table next to us. All in all a very pleasant discovery !

251101 Menu Montreal a table en novembre 2025 exellent, 50 CAD pp pour une cuisine delicieuse pleine de saveurs. Pour 2, Gravlax & aubergine farcie, poitrine de porc & gnocchis, 2 tatakis, & 2 tiramisu pour finir. Portions genereuses, le tout apres un focaccia maison & 2 cocktails Tiki. Le cocktail Spicy naked avec figue pour les amateurs de spicy seulement, vous etes prevenus...! Service impeccable, ambiance deroutante en bien! A recommander absolument pour le bues de novembre. Nous avons eu l'honneur de faire l'atelier de mixologie avec Paul. C'était hyper professionnel mais aussi très humain. Nous avons appris comment faire des drinks classiques.
It was so good. I rarely give reviews online, but this was definitely worth it. Everything was great & the food was so flavorful. The only thing, I would have appreciated if the server did a last call at our table & asked if we wanted something else before closing the kitchen (like most places do for food & bar) because I would have ordered dessert before the kitchen closed...I was celebrating a birthday. Otherwise, everything was good.
Nous sommes arrivés en groupe de 8 pour un bachelor, nous avons étés très bien accueilli par (Matheo?Mathias? Mathieu?) qui semblait etre le gérant. Nous avons pas mal essayé tous les repas de la carte en 3 services & tous étaient délicieux. Les drinks étaient un peu cher & j'avais l'impression d'en avoir plus pour mon argent côté nourriture mais ils étaient bons quand même. Deuxième tournée de shooter offerte par la maison ce qui nous a permis de passer une soirée incroyable par la suite. Que ce soit pour célébrer ou juste aller manger entre amis Vandale est un excellent choix! Je recommande fortement.

We visited Vandale Speakeasy & were really impressed by the food - everything we ordered was delicious, well-prepared, & beautifully presented. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the quality of the kitchen. Our share plates arrived before our tasting plates & utensils, which made things a bit awkward. Our food even showed up before our drinks, despite the bar being fairly empty (we were told the bartender was backed up). Water glasses went unfilled all night, & there were long waits between each of the three courses.
What stood out most, however, was the nonchalant attitude of both our server & the bartender. There didn't seem to be much urgency or attentiveness, which dampened what could have been an otherwise fantastic dining experience. Honestly, it makes sense the place was empty on a Friday night.
The food alone makes Vandale worth a visit, but we hope the service catches up to the level of the kitchen.
Hidden gem in Montreal! Stopped in for the Atelier Mixology class in the basement of this restaurant (which was equally amazing). Had a drink at the bar before we started - absolutely delicious. The barman was kind, funny, & made the best drinks. These were not just generic beverages but rather artfully crafted, highly complex drinks. After the class, we decided to stay for dinner as it smelled SO good coming back up the stairs. We all opted for the 3 course meal - wow. Every course was more amazing than the last. I can't recommend this place enough! Merci!
Coup de coeur. La nourriture était vraiment bonne. Les portions étaient grandement suffisantes. Le lieu est vraiment agréable & le service rapide. J'ai passé une belle fête d'anniversaire 😍

Really cute spot surprisingly not too busy when we went. The restaurant has lots of space , cool decor, & great people watching if you are seated by the window. The servers & bar tenders were great, service was perfect we both got the 5 item options (would definitely have been fine with the three as it was lots of food) & enjoyed everything. I would say the least favourite would be the arincini & the broccoli Cesar salad , not because they were bad but perhaps just less exciting flavor wise. Collectively we had the Tiki drink (very light & tasty), caipirinha (delicate, light, depth of flavour), a glass of wine, Negroni(the strawberry infusion was a delightful twist) , & an old fashioned (well balanced & came with a small fire on a plate to roast a marshmallow on which was a fun feature). Also ordered spicey naked & famous but it was waaaaaaaaaay too spicy so we sent it back & they replaced it no questions asked but be warned it is truly habanero forward lol.
The food portions were generous & timing between plates well timed to enjoy the ambience , drinks, & company. Would definitely go again :)
