We originally stopped by for takeout poutine, & were immediately welcomed by the incredibly friendly host, Tommy. His positive energy & warmth made such an impression on us that we decided to return the next night for dinner-& we're so glad we did!
I had the tuna tartare appetizer, which was absolutely delicious, while my friends had the hamburger steak & the Beyond Burger. Everyone loved their meals, but what truly stood out was the vibe-fun, welcoming, & full of heart. The entire team of servers & staff created such a great atmosphere that made the experience memorable.
Bonus: it's the only place in the village where we found a great espresso martini!
Hip little bistro in the heart of the Gay Village. Sunday dinner was great - delicious food, attentive & friendly staff & fun pianist/singer duo. Truly a gem of a place - wish I'd found it sooner!
The decor, music, & abstract videos are captivating & fun. You should experience it at least once if you are in the Village. The servers were attentive & accommodating.The food was good. Space was a little claustrophobic.
Super service comme toujours, on ne se sent pas stressé, & ce même à la fin du repas. Belle énergie entre les serveurs & ç la se ressent. Belle grosse musique d'ambiance, on aime ça ! C'était bien décoré pour la Fierté wow ! Seul petit point négatif est le choix très limité de bouffe... Ce n'est plus du tout l'ancien Saloon pour ceux qui l'ont connu. En gros... soit du tartare (demander + de croutons), des burgers ou une tranche de steak... Leur poutine manque toujours de sauce mais ne nous on pas chargé l'extra redemandé plus tard. Tu ne te déplace PAS pour aller manger au Saloon, non ...MAIS quand tu es dans le Village, c'est la place à aller 🙂
Came to Montreal for the weekend with my fiance & wanted to spend an evening in Gay Village. The Saloon did not disappoint with their tartare & service! Greeted in & out of a place with elevated vibes. Next time were in Montreal we're definitely going to come back!
The atmosphere is great the experience is always enjoyable the food is not bad at all the music is GREAT the only place in the Village with a lovely & welcoming vibe (the whole year)
It is my favorite place to eat in the village ! I come to celebrate Valentine's every year, my wife had the bavette & I had the surf n turf, nothing less than 5 stars !!! Alexis our server was very attentive & courteous. Can't go wrong with Saloon.
A local merchant recommended this place to David, our friends & myself & we are so glad we checked it out. The food, cocktails, atmosphere & service were exceptional. Simon our waiter was charming & only added to our dinning experience. It’s establishments like this that make Montreal’s Gay Village a destination worth visiting still.

On est toujours accueilli en ami au Saloon! Une véritable institution du Village & un resto de quartier où le personnel chaleureux est constitué de pros qui ont à coeur le bien être de la clientèle.
Best restaurant in the village I have been visiting this place for over 10 years I love the set up & the stuff is very nice & friendly I would recommend to anybody. The drinks are really good including the food. Thank you Merci. SanBass.
