We went on 12/26, there were only three tables of customers (including us), they had the holiday menu for Christmas which is $90 per person. We ordered two sets, the salmon appetizer my fiancée ordered simply has no flavor - AT ALL, just some salt & oil on it but still was tasteless, my snail were too salty. For the main he ordered steak he said it was really good, it was just normal steak, but my white fish with risotto was an disaster. AGAIN the risotto was so SALTY yet the fish has no flavor at all... For dessert he ordered creme brulee, not good no flavor again, I ordered the chocolate lava cake, when it was served, it was COLD...
I honestly will not recommend this to anyone because it cost A LOT but taste REALLY BAD. We end up paying more than $200 including tax & tips. To be honest this does not worth even $60. WORST restaurant we have ever been in Montreal. Please don't come here you will regret wasting your time & your money.
Je voulais réserver… j'y allais il y a 30 ans, un des premiers client.
Par contre, leur système de réservation contrevient à la loi ! Un peu excessif… je préfère ne pas me présenter !!!
My husband & I enjoyed a lovely dinner last night at P'tit Plateau. Our server, Rebecca, was delightful. She was very attentive but not intrusively so. She made wonderful recommendations & we enjoyed every bite. I had their cassoulet & my husband the lamb shank.
The restaurant is very quaint & we got the impression it is a neighbourhood favourite.
If we are ever in Montreal again, we will be returning to P'tit Plateau.
Great atmosphere, excellent & attentaive service & the food - just extraordinary.
Delicious food & charming helpful staff. Definitely recommend ( we had salmon & venison, both of which were excellent).
Absolutely exquisite! We started with a fresh salad & a positively delightful eggplant confit that will blow your socks off.
Service is absolutely stellar! Friendly, knowledgeable & professional. Our server made our visit a special occasion!!
My wife had the braised lamb shank & I had the cassoulet. Both traditionally prepared with bright delightful flavors.
Here's a secret… finish your meal with the Isle Flottantes. Trust me.
This is a little gem in the neighboorhood off of Mont Royal avenue...if you are craving truly french cuisine, ambience & francophone cultural magic, this is your place. The SaQ is just a short distance to pick up your wine. Don't skip dessert! Wonderful top notch service!!
Cute small French bistro, byob. Great service, good food.
Firstly, Rebecca (not sure about spelling) provided incredible service from start to finish, & you can really sense that she is genuinely passionate about her role at the restaurant.
Secondly, it should be noted that this is a'BYOB' establishment, which applies to all alcohol, rather than it literally just being applicable to beer.
The restaurant is cozy & intimate, with very warm background music & a sense of authenticity in that it almost feels like you are being fed on someone's private property, rather than in a typical commercial restaurant.
Feeling a sense of urgency to try as much as possible in one evening (as I do not know when I will be able to return), I ordered the lamb, venison, foie gras appetizer, & seafood appetizer, & found each dish to be wonderfully delectable. I also tried my guest's eggplant appetizer which was wonderful as well.
We brought our own wines, & there was no charge for doing so.
If you are looking for an authentic french cuisine dining experience, I highly recommend you visit this restaurant. It is great to go with family, friends or even (perhaps especially) for a romantic, intimate date.
Consideration: If you are intending to spend a longer duration of time at this restaurant, I was told that it may be best to visit during the week, rather than on the weekend as it will be less crowded & thus you will have access to your table for longer, as well as potentially more attentive service by virtue of the staff having more time for each customer (although I can't imagine the service being bad on any night of the week).
We visited on Wednesday, & it was heavenly.
Bon appétit!
Outstanding cuisine with hearty dishes. Warm welcome & excellent service. Charming location. Our favorite restaurant in Montreal!
