Some of the worst Szechuan food I've had in years. I honestly don't know what I was thinking coming here. The food somehow managed to be bland, greasy, & aggressively salty all at once. Every dish tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since lunch & then reheated badly before serving.
The dumplings looked & tasted cheap, rubbery, & completely flavorless. The General Tao was basically chunks of fried batter drowning in thick sugary salt sauce. Even the vegetables were sad.
The whole restaurant also feels tired & dingy, with zero energy or atmosphere. Definitely not the same quality people remember from the old Peel location years ago.
Terrible location, awful parking, mediocre service, & food that made me want water for the next three hours.
Me & my husband rate this restaurant 1 star we very disappointed as we ordered steamed seabas but they give different fish taste like tilapias we very familiar with the taste of sea bass & the price is very expensive not to recommend this restaurant better to eat in kung khe Chinatown the price is worth & food very good quality
Best chinese high end restaurant i have been to in awhile. The shrimp ball appetizers were amazing. An explosion of texture & flavor that was unmatched. We enjoyed everything we ate from the general tao chicken to the ginger noodles to the five spice fried calamari. Price wise it is on the higher end of most Chinese restaurants however in my opinion it reflects the quality of what was served as well as the portions offered. The waiter was helpful attentive & truly professional. We will definitely come back.
First time there. Suggested by a friend. Excellent choice & quality. Every bite was delicious. Staff was receptive & helpful. Will go again. Is now one of my top Chinese restaurants to eat at.
As someone who's lived in Montreal for nearly 20 years, I have to say-this is one of the best high-end Chinese restaurants in the city. We ordered several authentic dishes from the special menu, & every single one impressed. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, & flavors make it well worth it.
What a great surprise! The quality of the food is excellent... & the service is outstanding. We were genuinely surprised at how good it all was with each plate that came out. The general tao is the best I've ever had... the shrimp is amazing & the dessert is beautiful.. everything was delicious. A must try spot for anyone looking for quality Chinese food.

My wife & I stumbled upon "Le Piment Rouge Beaumont" quite by accident after a medical appointment in TMR, & what a delightful discovery it was! Initially hesitant due to its modest 4.0 rating & some critical reviews, our cravings led us through its doors-& we're thrilled they did! In a word, this place is *astonishing*. Nestled unexpectedly in its neighborhood, it stands out as the most authentic Chinese dining experience in Montréal. Our encounter with the staff only amplified our enjoyment. Brianna, a bright & attentive server, made us feel so at home that we were tempted to recruit her for our own business! Alongside her was a courteous young man whose professionalism matched her own. The culinary prowess was evident in every dish, compelling us to seek out the chefs just to express our gratitude for the meal that filled both our bellies & our hearts. With an average price of around $200 for two, the restaurant provides great value for truly high-quality fare. Our only wish is that it were closer to the West Island! Le Piment Rouge Beaumont deserves every accolade for its superb food, excellent service, & welcoming atmosphere. We eagerly anticipate our next visit, & recommend it to anyone in search of authentic Chinese cuisine. Highly recommended!
In my opinion, the best chinese in Montreal. I have to eat here at least once a week, it is that good! My favorites are the spare ribs, crispy calamari & garlic pork. Also they have the best chicken general tao. Menu is a bit on the pricey side but the quality & quantity ratio is very fair.
