Review Summary

Le Petit Dep is widely celebrated as a charming, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing destination in the heart of Old Montreal, often described as a unique mix between a traditional coffee shop and a boutique general store. Visitors frequently praise the high quality of the coffee, specialty lattes, and delicious pastries, while also appreciating the eclectic variety of local snacks, crafts, and souvenirs available for purchase. While the atmosphere is generally lauded for its warmth and vintage character, guests note that the space can become quite crowded and cramped due to its popularity. Experiences with staff are largely positive and friendly, though some patrons have reported inconsistent service speeds or issues with pricing transparency on retail items. The establishment is well regarded for its no-laptop policy, which encourages social interaction and enhances the relaxed, welcoming vibe for those looking to take a break while exploring the city.

This cafe is so cute. Not only does it have a wide selection of baked goods, sandwiches, salads & coffees, it also has a ton of local Montreal gifts (candles, candies, mugs, shirts, etc.). It's also right in the heart of old town. Definitely worth a visit.

Very cute cafe, small but have enough seats for a short break. Don't come in here & sit down all day with yr laptop. They sell a lot of local made Quebec made items. Worth to stop by & get unique souvenirs.

From the outside facade to the indoor sitting area, it feels like you are walking into someone's kitchen. There is a huge wooden table with many chairs. They are so busy & the reason is based on my experience, the cold brew & small fruits scone I ordered were great. The scone was fresh & not too sweet. The cold brew was really good, not too strong or weak. The staff is friendly. I was visiting Old Montreal, so the cafe was super busy, I do not know if it is always like this, & if yes, it is because of the quality of the product & staff. Be patient when you place your order, they have so many customers. They also sell all kinds of jam, honey & so much more.
It is a gem nestled in Old Montreal. Make sure to stop if you visit the area.

This is a lovely cafe in Old Montreal. My first visit was yesterday. I had tried a number of coffee shops 4 days before I discovered Le Petit Dep. Their coffee was nowhere as good as the Dep.
I bought a spinach feta scone to go with my cappuccino. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as the great cappuccino & good service. It was try.
The coffee brought me back this morning & I again ordered the cappuccino but this time I tried the bacon/egg sandwich. Delicious! Be sure to have it warmed up on the panini grill.
