Really really disappointing. The menu sounds great, but every dish was bland & tasted the same. Coffee like dishwater. Cappuccino came out room temperature. One person's dish came out 10 minutes after everyone else. The tables were way too close together so we were being bumped by waitstaff the entire meal. To top it all off it wasn't cheap :(
An Unforgettable afternoon of Pure Indulgence
The ambiance struck the perfect balance between opulent & intimate, with soft lighting that made everything feel like a beautiful secret.
The service was impeccable without being intrusive. Our server seemed to anticipate our needs before we even realized them.
The flavors were bold yet perfectly balanced, textures played off each other in delightful ways, & the presentation was stunning without feeling overly fussy.
I've been going to this restaurant for the past few years & have always had a great experience. The food has been delicious, the ambiance is great & the service as well. However, during my most recent visit this weekend, I ordered what I usually order, the foie gras poached egg, & I was disappointed to say the least. I'm not sure what has changed but the egg was cold, the foie gras was tasteless & the bread was dismal (honestly SO BAD). I'm not sure if there was something happening that day or not but I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon. At least the coffee & tea were good 🥲
Golden confit duck & silky bone marrow piled onto country-style bread, crowned with a perfectly poached duck egg that spills like velvet. Earthy chanterelles, sweet green peas, manchego shavings, & a creamy tarragon sauce tie it all together, finished with herb-salted crumble & fresh mizuna shoots.
Rich, comforting, & just refined enough to feel like a slow celebration rather than a meal. #RestaurantBrunchLePasseCompose #Montreal
Great service, but forgot my orange juice... only realised at the end of the meal... food was very good! Nice Decor & ambiance. Price alittle on the higher side but you get what you pay for.
Food & indoor decor was great! Love their mushroom saucing in the brunch items. Only downside is different servers kept coming back for our orders, when we specifically asked for more time to translate the menu; & when I asked about my order that took way longer than the others, the waitress gave me an annoyed look without words.
I came here after seeing Le Passé Composé heavily recommended on social media & marketed as one of Montreal's best brunch spots. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype.
Our group all ordered the foie gras. I initially wanted to order the pancakes with maple syrup, nuts, & sugar, but they were already sold out. While the waitresses were polite & attentive, the food itself was disappointing. The foie gras portion was extremely small & felt more like a piece of bread topped with a poached egg than a true foie gras dish. On top of that, the food arrived almost cold.
Even though the wait time was reasonable, the quality-to-price ratio is simply not there. I paid $57 (including tip) for the foie gras & an iced matcha latte, which I would not recommend at all. it was about 90% milk & 10% matcha, & once mixed, it tasted like flavorless green milk.
Overall, I would suggest saving your trip & going to another brunch spot, such as Allô Mon Coco. While the food may be less'exotic,' the quality & quantity is noticeably better for the exact same price or even less.
The service was good but the food fell a bit flat, especially for the prices they charge. Grilled cheeses for $30+ that are decent at best. We also had the bone marrow duck confit poached egg which to be honest tries to be too many things at once & loses itself in the myriad of fancy ingredients. We were in good company so we enjoyed ourselves but I had much better food for a fraction of the price.
Beautiful setting, delicious food & presentation. A little on the pricey side.
I went there for brunch. I ordered the ÉVEIL D'ASPERGES, & it was absolutely delicious! The sauce had a unique flavor, & the presentation was nice
My friend ordered the croissant sandwich, which was just average. Overall service was great & atmosphere was cozy & beautiful!
