Overall Le Passé Composé is celebrated for sophisticated brunch, flavorful, visually appealing plates, and a convivial setting that keeps guests returning.

I came here after seeing Le Passé Composé heavily recommended on social media & marketed as one of Montreal's best brunch spots. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype.
Our group all ordered the foie gras. I initially wanted to order the pancakes with maple syrup, nuts, & sugar, but they were already sold out. While the waitresses were polite & attentive, the food itself was disappointing. The foie gras portion was extremely small & felt more like a piece of bread topped with a poached egg than a true foie gras dish. On top of that, the food arrived almost cold.
Even though the wait time was reasonable, the quality-to-price ratio is simply not there. I paid $57 (including tip) for the foie gras & an iced matcha latte, which I would not recommend at all. it was about 90% milk & 10% matcha, & once mixed, it tasted like flavorless green milk.
Overall, I would suggest saving your trip & going to another brunch spot, such as Allô Mon Coco. While the food may be less'exotic,' the quality & quantity is noticeably better for the exact same price or even less.
Un must à faire durant votre séjour.

Best patio brunch ever. The lox & cream cheese bagel was stacked high with smoked salmon, mousse-like cream cheese & omg breaded & fried avocado. Matchstick frites came with house made mayo. & the French toast was delicately but deeply fried, with mini jogs of Quebec maple syrup. The people watching was a bonus floor show. Highly recommended, but not cheap.
Heard really good things about this place but we left feeling very disappointed. My salmon bagel plate lacked flavour. It honestly tasted like nothing, it lacked salt & spice. The waiter recommended the bone marrow which was the most expensive item on the menu & I did not like. It tasted a lot like mushrooms & it was not for me. This is more of a pricey place to get brunch & maybe we chose the wrong plates but it was deceiving. We will not be going back...
Passe Composé offers a really nice variety of breakfast & brunch options. The menu is creative & well thought-out, though I personally wished the portions were a bit bigger. The wait was quite long (& it wasn't even a Saturday), so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. Service could be a little quicker, especially since it's mostly brunch dishes, but overall it's a charming spot worth visiting

Beautiful setting, attentive staff, & food that was both well-presented & delicious. I ordered the mushroom'champêtre' eggs benedict &, as you can see, the presentation was beautiful. The taste matched the look. Without further ado, I recommend it!
OBS: I found it slightly more expensive than it should be, but at least they deliver quality
I visited this restaurant for the first time today & let me tell you it was amazing! The terrace is absolutely beautiful, very nice views. I ordered the Mediterranean grilled cheese & it did not disappoint, def top 3 best grilled cheeses I've ever had. I'd also like give an extra thanks to Alex my server. He was incredibly attentive & great at his job! 100% recommend 😃

I would recommend, but they have put too many tables in a small space - my guest had to keep contorting herself in different positions to let people pass, which wasn't ideal when we were trying to eat. I also saw so many people hit their heads on the hanging lampshades… it's not cheap, but it is nice.
I had high hopes for this place, but it turned out to be a letdown. For a brunch spot with premium prices, the experience felt far from worth it. Service was slow from the start-our food took over 30 minutes to arrive, & one dish didn't hit the table until 45 minutes later. To make matters worse, the food wasn't even hot when it finally came-lukewarm at best.
Ordering coffee? Don't expect any sugar or condiments at the table. You'll have to specifically request the exact number of sugar packets you want, which feels oddly stingy for a place charging this much. Table turnover & cleaning were just as sluggish. All in all, the service & attention to detail just didn't match the price point. Wouldn't recommend unless you have time (& patience) to spare.
