I came here after seeing Le Passé Composé heavily recommended on social media & marketed as one of Montreal's best brunch spots. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the hype.
Our group all ordered the foie gras. I initially wanted to order the pancakes with maple syrup, nuts, & sugar, but they were already sold out. While the waitresses were polite & attentive, the food itself was disappointing. The foie gras portion was extremely small & felt more like a piece of bread topped with a poached egg than a true foie gras dish. On top of that, the food arrived almost cold.
Even though the wait time was reasonable, the quality-to-price ratio is simply not there. I paid $57 (including tip) for the foie gras & an iced matcha latte, which I would not recommend at all. it was about 90% milk & 10% matcha, & once mixed, it tasted like flavorless green milk.
Overall, I would suggest saving your trip & going to another brunch spot, such as Allô Mon Coco. While the food may be less'exotic,' the quality & quantity is noticeably better for the exact same price or even less.

Disappointing to say the least. I was shocked at how high the prices were for brunch plates. & the taste did not justify the price. I finished my food because it was $35 before tax for one piece of the foie gras toast, but there was way too much going on, too much garnish, the flavours did not melt together & the dishes were quite strange & lacking seasoning. Not to mention we were seated so close to the people next to us it fell uncomfortable. Overall would not go back. & if you after a more classic brunch & fair prices, definitely do not go.

Excellentes tartines marinière & brioches au foie gras. Les frites sont exceptionnelles! Jolis cocktails déjeuner. Portions généreuses. Service amical. L'environnement entourant la terrasse est très beau & relaxant

We had breakfast here this morning when they opened at 9:00. The foie gras was quite pricey-$45 for two pieces of bread, two eggs, & two slices of foie gras, or $35 if you order just one slice with an egg & bread. The taste was good though; the foie gras was tender, rich, & a bit oily.
The other dishes were decent as well-overall above average, not bad at all, though I would say the prices are on the higher side. The location is nice, & the music adds to the atmosphere. It's a good place to try, but not necessarily a must-visit.

Pros: Les plats etaient succulent & excellents. Fait à la perfection! Je recommande fortement le plat avec le foie gras.
Cons: Le service etait médiocre & l'attente pour recevoir les plats etaient de 1h, ce qui est extrêmement long.

Mon conjoint & moi même avons dégusté les oeufs pochés au foie gras, absolument exquis ! Plat très équilibré & copieux. Les saveurs se mélangent très bien, la sauce vient parfaire le plat. Le seul bémol serait le service, les serveurs avaient l'air vraiment débordés & n'ont malheureusement pas pu s'occuper de nous pendant le repas & l'attente a été très longue. Mais si vous cherchez un brunch hors du commun & savoureux c'est la place !

🦴 Bone Marrow - Would skip. Way too oily for my taste - just not worth it.
🍞 French Toast - Deep-fried, slightly greasy but hits that comfort food vibe. Not bad, just not exciting.
👀 Spotted some dishes from Harbour at the next table - looked pretty good! Might check them out next time. 👌

Super belle ambiance au soleil sur la terrasse pour un beau brunch du samedi matin! Personnellement je n'ai pas trouvé que le'Premium' du mimosa valait la peine (avec de la liqueur de framboise) comparativement à un mimosa classique, mais tout de même très bon. Oeufs pochés avec foie gras pour mon copain qui sortaient de l'ordinaire, os à moëlle pour moi & ouf, probablement un des meilleurs brunchs de notre vie!
Un brunch au prix d'un souper, mais qui en vaut amplement la peine.

An incredible brunch venue with great decor & a great staff that is always on its feet 😇 We made reservations & were seated right away & started with latte & French vanilla milkshake ❤? We then moved onto Strawberry shortcake waffle as well as Gaspor Grilled Cheese & wow ❤?❤? Every bite was incredibly delicious & made with so much attention to taste & texture ❤?❤? The menu is very extensive & we cannot wait to come back to this 11/10 restaurant & try other food items with family & friends 😇😇 UPDATE: Went for brunch again & had the cafe latte, mango & lime smoothie, foie de gras, & rustic & were so delicious ❤?❤? As always great service & great food 😇😇

Street metered parking is always a challenge anywhere in Griffintown & the Old Port. The entrance is actually in the park square & not on the street. I'm glad the chef has been recognized for his talent & had the opportunity to upscale. It's so fancy now. It's also bigger to accommodate more people. I kind of liked the old wood picnic tables though. There's a huge bar with many alcoholic & non alcoholic drink options. The food is perfect as always (I got the mushroom toast). I would suggest more vegetarian & vegan options, but I guess that's expected from a place most known for its foie gras & marrow dishes.

We went there for the weekend brunch which was not disappointing although it was a bit pricey esp for drinks & if you are adding sides. With such a nice weather day we choose to sit at their outdoor courtyard seating which is awesome. Gotta try their double Foie Gras it's a good portion for part of two & taste fantastic 😍

Une véritable découverte ! Si l'oeuf poché au foie gras était déjà prometteur, le pain doré au panko m'a véritablement bluffé. L'alliance du croustillant du panko avec la douceur du pain doré & la fraîcheur du yogourt au miel était tout simplement divine. Un brunch d'une finesse rare, qui se hisse sans conteste parmi les meilleurs que j'aie pu tester, & ce, où que ce soit. L'accueil chaleureux & le cadre original complètent parfaitement cette expérience culinaire mémorable.

Très beau restaurant! J'ai pris l'oeuf poché maritime + smoothie à la manque, & mon amie l'oeuf poché au foie gras.
Le restaurant est bien connu à Montréal, donc c'était assez occupé. Je recommande de faire une réservation pour vous assurer d'avoir des places!

Very nice restaurant. Bright, clean & comfortable environment.
We got seated on a nice table but being in the corner means it's a little harder to get service at first. The waitress was very attentive after introducing herself.
The atmosphere was very nice, no complaint at all.
Food wise, the foie gras toast was amazing! The bone marrow was alright, nothing too special. The fresh juice was nice.
Will go again but probably try other dishes & maybe go for dinner next time.
Definitely a place you need to make reservations early.

Well, overall, it is not too bad. Only two things:
1. I feel their cooking process probably started from raising geese after received my order of foie gras🤣🤣🤣
2. IDK if it is normal, but the fries looked & tasted like overcooked, even after I asked them to make a new one (the picture shows the second one; the first one looked like charcoal)🤣🤣🤣🤣

C'est un classique annuel pour moi & mon copain quand on veut se gâter: le Passé Composé un matin d'hiver! Grilled-cheeses toujours aussi bons & le foie gras était une découverte pour nous, délicieux! Service toujours aussi friendly & le nouvel emplacement est vraiment cute!

Brace yourself for some seriously DELICIOUS sandwiches! Amazing taste, cute place & veeeeery nice staff. With its art deco design, this restaurant gives a very romantic setting for a brunch/lunch/coffee date. As for the food, tasty, fresh, delicious, in one word, AMAZING! I tried a lot of sandwiches places in this specific neighborhood, & it's the first time I want seconds! I recommend the classic & the club. Finally, the coffee is also delicious & very flavorful. Also, if you want to try the brunch, make a reservation in advance, a lot of demand & for a very good reason, delicious food ! Try the French bread (deep fried with fresh fruits & a very tasty cream) & the foie gras with eggs (available without pork), it's to die for !
