Le Mitoyen Restaurant: Awful, not worth the $$$

7 of us were expecting a great experience based on the good reviews. We were celebrating the 25th wedding anniversary of my sister & brother in law.

Four of us started with a cream of carrot. We got it, it had so much salt it literally burnt your mouth. My girlfriend had a salad but tried the cream out of my plate & almost threw up. All 7 of us tried it & everybody agreed: uneatable!

So? You tell the waitress, right? We all told her the soup was burnt by salt & guess what the answer was: “impossible”. My brother in law intervened & pushed his rank of cook, & repeated to her that it was disgusting.

So? You would figure that all plates leave for the kitchen & the waitress would come back with freshly made soup & a grave apology, right? Wrong again! Boy, you’re really not good at this! The plates came back DILLUTED IN WATER!!!! The soup was so clear it was not soup anymore, it was consummate! I could see the bottom of my plate through the mixture! Talk about taking your clients for ignorant fools!

The soups all went back & we had the salad instead, even the ones that did not want salad. We were certainly not going to chance it a third time.

Thank god we were in good company. The soup was certainly the joke of the evening & will probably be for years to come: “Man, there was so much salt in that soup, surprised there still was some left to put on the table”; or “Can you pass the salt please? Sorry, there’s no more, it was all in the soup!”; or “Don’t put salt on your potatoes, the waitress is watching you!”, or “Pass me a pepper grinder, I’ll try to cut the salt in my soup”, you get the idea.

& through all that, not one single apology, bill reduction, digestive on the house, N_O_T_H_I_N_G. Apparently this restaurant is owned by a chef? What a joke! Only excuses: “to heir is human” I heard the waitress say. Well, sure is. But we should all assume our errors & here’s one for you: “2 wrongs don’t make a right”.

Awful food, questionable service, terribly overpriced, immensely overrated. We’ll never go back & I recommend anybody not to go there.
