About

Le Jardin De Panos focuses on the preparation of traditional Greek cuisine centered on grilled meats, fresh seafood, and signature preparations like souvlaki and moussaka. The menu emphasizes authentic Mediterranean flavor profiles through the use of high quality olive oil, lemon, oregano, and garlic across various plates. Diners encounter a relaxed, casual environment where the focus remains on straightforward cooking techniques and the presentation of hearty, protein-centric meals. Vegetable-forward appetizers such as spanakopita and crispy fried calamari reflect the establishment's dedication to classic Aegean culinary staples. Each dish aims to maintain consistent standards of preparation that highlight the inherent freshness of the raw ingredients sourced for these kitchen outputs. The dining area provides a functional space for patrons to experience focused Greek food selections in an unpretentious and direct culinary setting.

Review Summary

Le Jardin De Panos is widely regarded as a classic Montreal institution known for its authentic Greek cuisine, generous portions, and particularly its beautiful garden terrace, which many patrons find romantic and inviting. The restaurant operates as a popular bring-your-own-wine destination that has maintained a loyal following for many years. While many reviews highlight delicious staples such as the calamari, moussaka, souvlaki, and lentil soup, some experiences are marred by inconsistent service, long wait times, and a very noisy dining environment when the establishment is full. Although the vast majority of guests enjoy a reliable and pleasant dining experience, feedback occasionally mentions issues with table assignments despite reservations, varying levels of warmth from the staff, and occasional inconsistencies in the quality of meat preparation.

Nice experience, visited with my 4 year old on vacation. We did not get to sit in the open room as hoped & were instead by the service station. Food was good & overall vibe had good energy. Would recommend.

C'était bon comme d'habitude mais le service…le serveur était inexistant.
La table derriere nous sont arrivés après nous & ont reçu un meilleur service que nous. Dessert, thé & café avant nous.

Very tasty food, amazing value for money, & the best chicken we have had in a long time. We had the Poikilia of appetizers & the chicken skewer & we enjoyed everything. It's also BYOB.

The service was also impeccable. I would highly recommend!

I'm really happy I chose to order from this place today on skip the dishes. The dishes I ordered; lentil soup, soup of the day, artichokes, tirokafteri, half tzatziki half taramas, eggplant salad, garlic butter & haloumi snails, dolmas entree & spinach pie. It came with 3 bags of bread. Very underrated! It'll probably be enough for 4 days along with the other foods I usually eat at home. The portions were kind of small for the prices (good thing I placed a big order) but the chef knows what they're doing with flavour & textures (unique recipes but you can just tell it's authentic because they have a classic gourmet fresh taste). The one critique I have is the spinach pie which seemed too oily & came in a giant plastic container (would have been fine in a paper bag.) I'm still looking forward to toasting it this week.
