So about a 2 years ago I had written a bad review after going there twice & having horrible service & food.
My spouse & I have now been there a dozen times [him, more] over the last 2 years & both the service & food have greatly improved since our first 2 visits.
I believe whoever was in the kitchen the first 2× we went, & of course our wait staff, was obviously the issue. We have since had nothing but great food & great service.
I really appreciate that in the past few months they now offer an English menu as well as a French one [it was originally French only]. The wait staff all seem to be pretty good in [obviously French] & English as well [which you don't always get everywhere you go in QC, especially outside of Montreal].
I really love the atmosphere. Especially their patio in the summer time. It's a great place to go on a beautiful summer day to grab lunch or dinner, or just some drinks with friends, family, or your spouse. There's also a little decadent Icecream shop right beside the patio if you wanted to grab a different kind of dessert than what's offered in the restaurant. The Icecream shop [which I'm also positive is owned by the restaurant as well, seeing as how it has the same name], has a lot of different options for different kinds of Icecream based desserts. However, Dorchester's Cheesecake is absolutely one of my favorite things, it's not a cheesecake slice but more of a deconstructed cheesecake that they serve in a bowl. I make my husband bring me home one anytime he goes without me [it's 2026, & their current Cheesecake flavor is Oreo. I always ask to have mine topped with a big scoop of Caramel, because the cheesecake itself is not too sweet. **TO DIE FOR**].
My husband is obsessed with the duck wings. It's his absolute favorite thing & he HAS to order them every time he goes.
We also love the baked Brie, the Dorchester Burger is amazing & we had the filet mignon last time we went for lunch. Both were cooked to perfection [I had mine Blue, my Husband's was medium rare], & the vegetable side was probably one of the most delicious vegetable sides I have ever put in my mouth! It was so simple, yet SO GOOD! I believe it was just roughly chopped cauliflower with a tiny bit of red/purple cabbage mixed in; but the way they had cooked it to perfection & like it was lightly poached in butter ... *chefs kiss* .
L'endroit est vraiment bien pour sa salle privée. Cependant le serveur ne voulait pas faire de cocktail sauf s'ils étaient simple, alors que le menu a de belles propositions. J'ai su a la fin de la soirée que j'aurais pu avoir un cocktail en descendant en bas pour le commander. Alors que le serveur est aller chercher ma bière en bas ... le repas 3 services offrait une soupe tiède mais au bon goût. Le poulet etait sec, grosse poitrine avec un tout petit filet de sauce Alfredo. Les accompagnements étaient très bon.
Nous étions 6 français en touriste dans cette ville & très agréablement surpris de la qualité de ce restaurant avec une mention spéciale pour sa serveuse Joaline qui a su nous accueillir avec un sourire éclatant, très aimable & nous a super bien renseigné sur les plats.
On a passé un excellent moment 🤩
J'ai adoré le Dorchester! J'y est été avec mon amoureux & nous avons tous les deux apprécier. Le poulet au beurre de mon amoureux manquait de sauce mais était bon quand même!
Tout était excellent, de l'entrée au dessert! Repas & service impeccable 👌Pour une première visite, je suis charmée! Décor & ambiance que j'adore ! Décidément un endroit que je vais conserver dans mes favoris ☺?

Super resto. Cuisine & menu top, bonne sélection de vins à un prix raisonnable. Service impeccable. Ambiance & déco agréables. La destination de choix à St-Jean. Notre première visite & certes pas la dernière.
Perfect atmosphere, fresh & beautifully presented food with sweet seasoned fries to complement. My group was primarily Anglo & we could have used some more english menus instead of sharing, but with that said, this restaurant has set the bar incredibly high for every time I will be in the Saint Jean area.

Quel magnifique endroit!!! Je viens d'y faire mon party de bureau annuel pour 50 personnes & l'endroit est tout simplement parfait pour ça dans la salle Champlain. Avec le bar à même la salle, le setup pour le DJ & le personnel à votre service durant toute la soirée, l'ensemble de mon organisation a adoré son expérience de bout en bout. & un merci tout spécial à Isabelle & Joanie pour le clé en main, à un coup défiant toute concurrence.🎉🔥🍾
Bel endroit, on est passé en après midi un samedi donc de la place en masse. Service impeccable merci, seul bémol était que le repas & café de ma conjointe était froid/tiede ( on c'est fait échanger le café merci ) & jai eu le' filet mignon' qui etais pas mal plus dans le range d'un steak bien normal.
Pas tendre pour un mignon mais bien pour un steak sauf a 60$ cest un peu chien.
Frites, sauces & entrées était bonne!
En gros bon service, beau local mais repas un peu cher pour ce quon à eu.
Passer dans le coin on pourrait repasser mais peu être éviter les repas dispendieux.
