Excellent food, but the service here is what really stands out. Warm, attentive staff who made the whole brunch flawless.
Upon entering the establishment it has nice atmosphere, the waiter was nice & told me to sit anywhere. It started going down hill when it took around 20 mins just for the Waiter to take the order & another 20-30 mins for the food, the food its self was meh, the ketchup & hot sauce was helping getting it down, I also had the mango smoothie which had no flavour at all, when I asked for the bill it took 15 mins just to get the bill. I'm not sure if they were severely understaffed but if you are a breakfast place open only till 3:00pm u should have the proper amount of workers during the shifts.
Mon nouveau resto pref
I visited Le Déj for Sunday afternoon brunch in July, about four months after they opened, & really enjoyed discovering a newer family-oriented breakfast spot in Laval.
The restaurant is bright & colourful with fun decor, blue booths, yellow chairs, & a huge mural that immediately catches your attention. The owner, Voula, was also sooo sweet & took the time to tell us more about the thought they put into their food.
I really liked the Eggs Benedict with premium-cut beef brisket, served on a sourdough English muffin made by a local bakery. Everything tasted fresh & on the healthier, lightly seasoned side, but they have pretty much every condiment you could need on the table if you want to add a little more flavour yourself.
Voula explained that they don't use seed oils, only extra virgin olive oil & avocado oil, & there isn't even a deep fryer in the kitchen. She also told us they receive fresh deliveries every two days & use ingredients from local farms when possible, which I really appreciated.
Overall, Le Déj feels like a great option for families or anyone looking for a fresh, lighter take on breakfast & brunch in Laval. I'd happily come back & try more of the menu!
