The bar is beautiful & the employees are very nice. The food was delicious, my favorite were the pressed sushi (especially the crunchy ebi), & the matcha tiramisu. The first time I came I had the espresso martini & yesterday I had the Hakuna ma-sake, both were delicious 😋.The music is also very good also. Overall, very nice place to have a night out with friends or for a date :).
The pressed sushi is so good! The place has such a warm & relaxing vibe, & the staff are super friendly & thoughtful. A really great experience in Montreal.
Montreal foodie vibe right here. An old Montréal ice cream shop converted into a asian fusion place.'Pressed' Sushi, Sushi hotdogs & tartare & super funny mocktails & cocktails. It's refreshing to go a innovative place that also serve fresh food. It was delicious & full of flavor. I will definitely return!
Loved all the food (especially truffle pressed rice) & the staff was excellent. The lock tails/cocktails were fun.
Absolutely loved this place. Very nice atmosphere & enjoyed the speakeasy ambiance. My highlight were the Maneki dogs. However, I thought there was too much rice in comparison to the fish in the pressed sushi & was let down by the matcha tiramisu that didn't taste fresh but rather cold & hard. Their mocktails were also very good! Overall would absolutely recommend.
I had an incredible night at Chateau Maneki. It's so cute & cozy, & the food is fantastic. The standouts for me were the Hakuna Ma-Sake cocktail for being creamy with a little lemon freshness & a sweet finish, the pressed crunchy wasabi roll & the cabbage appetizer. The only downside is that the adorable tables are a little on the tiny side for my long legs - next time I will request a spot at the bar, but make no mistake I will be back. I hope they are wildly successful & open a location closer to me
So good! Every bite & sip I took was delicious. They recently opened a room on the second floor that has real speakeasy vibes. Will be coming back to try more pressed sushis & cocktails!
We got some pressed sushi to share. It was so delicious. We ordered the unagi kabayaki & the sake truffé as well as the p'ti cochon fizz to drink that was served in a pig! 😄 It wasn't a lot of food for 2 people, but it was really good. Although there is only outdoor seating, the restaurant has heat lamps as well as blankets. They also have free tea & water in the seating area. 5 star experience. Château Maneki really thought of everything.
Japanese casse-croute! Very good donburi & pressed sushi. Mock tails are delicious. Ice cream was pineapple & vanilla soft serve - excellent. A little pricy but definitely worth it to me!
We went on a Friday at lunch time in october. It was a pretty cold day. We first thought that we could eat inside, but the location only had an outside terrace with a wooden fence. They had heating gear & covers for clients, but we couldn't go to the inner tables since we had a stroller for our baby & the front table blocked the way. Instead, we went on the other side with benches. There was no heating gear, but luckily there was sunlight coming out. The food was really tasty but pricy for the quantity. We ordered Unagi Donburi (more rice than eel, but the mix with the avocado was really good), tuna pressed sushi (the wasabi sauce & peas really gave a good texture to the pressed sushi, not enough tuna) & yuzu mocktail (more ice than drink, but good combination) as a drink.
I had an amazing dining experience at Château Maneki! The restaurant's unique pink castle setting instantly caught my attention, & their pressed sushi is simply delicious. I tried the 📌Tartare de Thon, 📌Maneki Classic, & 📌Unagi Kabayaki, & each dish was beautifully presented & packed with flavor. The balance of textures & tastes is perfect. I also ordered the 📌Rose Poison mocktail, which was refreshing & a perfect complement to the meal. If you are a sushi lover or just looking for a new, fun, creative spot to dine, Château Maneki is a good choice :)
Was very curious to try this spot with all the social media hype I've been seeing. Overall, the food was fairly good & a really cute decor. A bit small on the fish portion for the pressed sushi, but a fair value on the tartare. For me the biggest downside is the wait time, we probably waited about 35 mins for a relatively small sushi order. For me 35 mins is not a viable wait time, given that they should be perceived as a casse-croute place. If they can cut the wait time to 10-15 mins, this place will be a viable option, if not, then i don't personally find it a huge differentiator vs other sushi places.
- I loved my meal; I had the pressed eel sushi, & the slight smoky flavor was really delicious. The place, the team, & the food-everything was perfect. However, I find that $21 with tip for 8 pieces, with rice & a slice of fish as thin as a strip of bacon, is quite expensive. But honestly, that's the norm nowadays.
UNIQUE! this word suits this place more than ever! A Disneyland-style castle with incredible pressed sushi! [truffle sushi is my favorite, amazing combination I would like to pay special attention to the service & hospitality, amazing atmosphere! I'll definitely come back More reviews @tlatblvd
I recently tried the Sushi Pressed at Château Maneki in Montreal, & it was exceptional. The fresh, high-quality fish layered with perfectly seasoned rice created a harmonious blend of flavors. The presentation was elegant, & the service was impeccable. Highly recommended for sushi lovers looking for something special!
I was sad when the ice cream shop that was previously at this pink & blue castle closed down. It was an institution for years & many in the neighbourhood were afraid that the next owner would tear down the castle. Happy to see that Château Maneki not only kept the original look of the place, they added a few modern touches as well to give this place a very cool vibe. The menu is very interesting & different from many other run-of-the-mill sushi shops, with oshizushi (pressed sushi), donburi & tartare. For our first visit, we took the sake truffle oshizushi & the maneki classique tartare. The Sake Truffle was very flavourful, quite spicy, & filling even for my husband! The tartare was just also perfectly spicy & came with tooons of crispy taro chips which I love. We found the prices to be quite reasonable. Looking forward to coming back & eating on their little terrasse. The place was a little busy even for a wednesday lunch, so do expect a bit of wait for your food during rush hour as they are recently opened!
Sushi in a Pink Castle?! Yes, please! We showed on opening day to dine like colorful royalty. Apparently, we weren't the only ones, as long lines soon formed (but we beat that by going at noon 😅). We enjoyed some excellent flambéed oshizushi (pressed sushi) in the sun on their terrasse, jalapeno salmon donburi, & a delicious mocktail (alcohol license coming soon) in the cutest toad-shaped cup. They also have a rotating flavor of ice cream, & we're glad to see it still being served from that building. For now, they offer takeout or outdoor dining, but there are plans for a dining room on the second floor come winter, which we will be sure to visit again!
