Butterblume is a restaurant located in Mile End in Montreal. It's a perfect meeting point between all the neighborhoods (or almost!) for lunch, an aperitif, or for dinner. Whether on site or to take-our (visit our grocery store, right next door!)
Daily fresh bread (homemade!), soups, salads, light meals, sweets and a fine selection of wines, beers, cocktails.
Le Butterblume is described as bright and lively with a seasonal menu and a standout brunch that draws a crowd. Many reviews praise the use of high end ingredients, the beautiful presentation of dishes like ravioli and brioche, and the open kitchen with attentive service. There are remarks about portions varying, with some brunch portions being generous and others noting that certain dishes like gnocchi can feel heavy or that some smaller plates leave you wanting more. Prices are often described as high and sometimes not worth the value given the portion sizes, with some diners leaving satisfied and others disappointed. Noise level is frequently noted as high when the place is busy, though the atmosphere is described as warm and convivial with friendly staff. The brunch and seasonal ingredients receive many positive notes, with compliments on coffee, bread, and creative combinations, while a few critics feel certain flavors lack balance or fail to rise above home cooking. Overall, impressions range from solid to exceptional, highlighting strong service and a vibrant setting while acknowledging room for refinement in flavor balance and pricing.
Le Butterblume has become a regular stop for us on our way into Montréal. Their menu is loooooovely & creative - & the people are great. We like to sit at the bar & watch the pros do their thing. It's fun. But table service is great, too. Go!
Butterblum is simply one of our favorite brunch spots. It has become our go-to place whenever we're craving a great brunch.
The menu is fantastic, the staff is always lovely, & the ambience is warm & inviting. There's so much creativity packed into this little place, which makes every visit feel special.
We've been going so often that the staff & even the chef now recognize us, which makes the experience feel even more welcoming. We absolutely adore this place & always look forward to coming back.

Attente interminable.
Here is my really honest review, the food is good but nothing extraordinary, what is amazing is how over prized it is for the size of plates, i paid for carrot toast no protein $25, 25 mins wait, $6.50 for a mini chai tea, no english menu, it is just overrated, small tables, not nice seating. Seems just like a trend rather than well rated. Wouldnt come again. Btw service was friendly but took them a life time. There was a couple that took them like 15 mins to order.
Just had a light lunch of butternut squash soup & radicchio salad but it was delicious! Sitting at the bar was comfortable & much shorter of a wait than waiting for a table. Prices felt a little high but the food was good.

Really nice restaurant with interesting menu. Was just expecting a little more. They use really good, high end ingredients but I feel it didn't hit the highest of culinary notes. The dishes were beautifully presented but as for the taste, I can create the same flavours at home.
It's an overall solid place to eat but was expecting more amazing flavour combinations & textures.
The menu isn't huge, but you don't need it to be. The brunch is absolutely incredible. The flavours are all there, the textures, everything! The coffee was also surprisingly good. Don't be fooled though, it's a lot of food, so come hungry.

Lovely brunch spot with delicious mushroom toast! Seasonal menu so loads of fresh local ingredients in the summer & lots of squash in fall. Their bread is delicious! It is bright & good for a group since they take reservations.
The blandest brunch I ve had in Montreal. One would have to TRY to make a couscous that tasteless with a bland chicken to boot. The menu descriptions grossly over-frill the basic dishes we got.
