This was so fun!! You get to solve a mystery & it's hard to find the entrance. I had an awesome cocktail & we had a great time cracking the case (the bring you shots if you do). They also have a lot of non-alcoholic cocktails & options & the meatballs were delicious!View more

Randomly went here on a Sunday night & found out they do burlesque shows on Sunday nights, which was a surprising experience. The shows were a nice mood change. The drinks here are decent - I like how they have preset mocktails as well. We didn't participate in solving the murder mystery, but the table next to us did & they really seemed to enjoy it. Overall, a great vibe, especially if you go with a group.View more

Didn't catch the show, but it's still a great experience, slightly on the pricey side ( not in a bad way ).
The drinks are well crafted, the service is excellent, & there's an additional mystery game with a free shot once completed, so in the end everything feels justified for the price.

This place definitely stands out among the scores of bars in the area. A'true' speakeasy with the vibes, the warmth, & the service. The drinks are very well made- & only a little bit more expensive than the average Montreal cocktail. It's totally worth it to pay a little bit more for the superior quality - & there are some very interesting options on the menu. I requested the server for'an interesting whiskey cocktail' & was blown away with the concoction they made me. It is highly recommended to go in a group & try a hand at the murder mystery game. Definitely a Montreal experience to not be missed!View more

Behind a black door, there is a brick wall. Once you solve that, you are taken underground to a barely lit, hidden Speakeasy. The ambiance had a mystique to it, a really fun atmosphere for fancy drinks & food. Drinks: totally worth the exorbitant price. They were honestly some of the best mixed & polished cocktails we've had in Montreal. The plus is every drink you get a clue to help solve a murder mystery. That was a fun addition, for sure. But you need all 6 clues to solve it, so 3 people ordering 2 drinks each would be recommended (or hey, go for 6 alone). Food: surprise here was the food open at 11h30 until 2am when we arrived. & although a small menu, damn delicious. The burrata & foccacia were certainly worth it. The plate of potatoes, too, was worth for a midnight snake. Service: server was professional, though he did disappear at times & we waited a while for another drink. Another server brought us the clues & round of drinks, very kind & explained the game. We got shots for solving the murder mystery too, Overall a great time to take friends or on a unique date idea.View more

The best speak easy I've been to! Stumbled upon this speakeasy on a Wednesday night as it was our last night in Montreal. It was fun trying to figure out how to get in. Then we went down a set of steep stairs. We lucked out & around 9:45 there was a burlesque show. It lasted about 10min. Ask for a seat in the stage room to see the show. There's a fun murder mystery game to play. You need to order 6 drinks to solve the game. Drinks & food were delicious! Highlight of our trip & definitely the best way to spend our last night in Montreal.View more

3 of us came here to play the mystery & also enjoy some drinks. Both their alcoholic & non-alcoholic options were amazing. To add to the experience, the mystery was so much fun & we had such an interactive time trying to solve it. When we succeeded the staff also gave us a round of "small cocktail like shots". Want to cool off in the summer like James Bond with a Vesper? This is the place. Hospitality is through the roof if you can get past the intimidating door man but the server is charming in a devilish kind of way. Guy would be your guide to sin as he's the manager as well as the host of the free burlesque show offered there every Sunday & Wednesday (10 minute of performance at 9:30, & another 10 min performance at 10:50). They offer live piano at Tuesday & live jazz band on Thursday, so don't worry if you cannot catch the burlesque. Light appetizers are served but nothing fulfilling otherwise. The cocktails are priced at 17$ with tax & tip is 18% which rounds out to about 20$ a cocktail, so sip slowly. However the entrance is not wheelchair accessible, which is an unfortunate downside. The place is chic, professional, & suspire the definition of "mystery" in every facet of their existence. Highly recommended for a late night getaway.View more

The best way to experience this bar is (1) With 2-4 friends you can solve the mystery with; (2) By coming on a Wednesday or Sunday around 8pm, before the burlesque show; (3) Not on an empty stomach. The cocktails are very good, but the vibes & the service are even better. Treasure them. Doing all the cocktails & food, with 2 people only, the bill will be in the triple digits.View more

10 10 10s across the board for the atmosphere in general. Our server Guy was beyonce entertaining. A beam of positive & bright energy. It's contagious. We saw 2 burlesque shows & we had fun solving the murder mystery game. He was the highlight of our visit to Montreal. Highly recommend this place.View more

Eh. Neat idea but not executed in the best way. Would have been better if it was one or the other-Speakeasy OR Murder Mystery. Our friend saw it on TikTok & we saw several people there that seemed to only be there for the TikTok. You HAVE to order 6 drinks (& pay per drink), from specific menus in order to get the clues to solve the murder. You can not solve it with only some of the clues. Some drinks were good, some not. Annoying that you can't just order what you like. Door guy was really nasty when we asked if it was possible that friends that were coming in a bit could be seated with us (they couldn't)-how would we know what the seating situation is like inside if we've never been there & they're "secretive" about it? This was an excellent experience! The staircase is hidden away behind a secret door, & the prohibition speakeasy atmosphere is perfect! We played the murder mystery game, & the cocktails that we ordered for it were some of the best drinks we'd ever been served. This experience was the highlight of the night. The concept of this bar is absolutely amazing. Very entertaining, but its thought of. Every drink comes with a clue for the murder mystery you must solve. So thats 6 drinks, $$$. But the service is excellent, although i would have liked for them to explain the concept to me when i got there. Drinks are honestly meh, but thats not what your paying for.View more

We loved the entry to the speakeasy, it was fun! We did opt to solve the murder mystery which was the perfect amount of challenge. It was like an escape room met a cool bar atmosphere. We were not crazy about the drinks that were apart of the mystery challenge & did want a more simple & widely liked option to chose from. Overall our service was great, the waitress was kind & offered helpful hints to solve the mystery when we needed it. Very cool experience, was fun with a couple but might be better in a larger group where each person could get on drink as you need 6 in total to solve the mystery. When you solve it you do get a prize at the end which was a nice touch!View more

Whenever someone asks me where to go while in Montreal Le 4ᶱ Mur is one of my top recommendations. Burlesque on Wednesdays toppled with a mystery game you can solve any day of the week. A lot of people go here for the "speakesy" hidden behind a wall schtik but I honestly believe this place is much more than that. A true gem.View more

My parents arrived from Edinburgh, Scotland & my girlfriend & I took them to Le 4 Mur. They LOVED it. It is the first thing that they mention when they talk about their trip. The bouncer out front was so friendly & happy to help us figure out the brick mystery to open the door. Our server Guy was so kind & understanding, because my parents wanted to practice their french. He worked with them to get the right words & was really encouraging. We ordered the Hawaiian cocktail which was by far the most unique cocktail I have ever experienced. It tasted like savoury smoked pineapple, which I was totally not expecting, but it was so delish. The vibe in there is really cool too, with moody decor & ambient lighting. The staff really knew what they were doing. It is a little pricey, but worth it for the unique experience. I'm sure my parents are bragging to their friends back in Scotland. Thanks Guy! Thé staff was lovely & the drinks were great.
We did the murder mystery- although the bartender was very very accommodating, it would have been nice to be able to order the drinks of our choice with the clues, instead of the set menu.
They were delicious but not choices we would usually make for yourselves- which was also a fun adventure.

It was a really pleasant experience! Great cocktails, service & of course, murder mystery theme. The riddle for entering the bar was easier than I expected (I was hyped for it). Looking forward to a second round of drinks & the updated riddle.

Really nice looking spot. We played the murder mystery, which is where there were issues. We couldn't read the clues due to tiny font size & lighting (seemed to be a common problem based on the flashlights we saw other tables using). The music in the place is lovely, but too loud to be able to hear anyone (making a discussion about whodunnit tough). You can't choose your drinks if you do the mystery & I wasn't a fan of the sweetness. They sold out of most of the food by 9:30. Finally, there were only two waiters for the whole place, so it took forever to get our drinks & we ended up leaving after waiting 30 minutes to see if we were right on the mystery.
It's a great idea, but the execution was bad. If you just go for drinks, you'll have a better time!
