This was our second time coming here, which we were excited about because we didn't stick around long enough the first time to complete the mystery. We came in at 10pm on a Saturday night & waited 15 minutes for our party of 2 to be seated. Not a bad start. It took 10 min to get waters, another 10 to get our menus. Our waitress didn't say anything to us & we waited 20 minutes before we had to flag her down to order our first drinks. Next thing you know, a burlesque show started, which we didn't expect based on the schedule online, so we attributed the slow service to the performance going on.
As we waited a while for our drinks, the large table of 8 beside us were loudly discussing the answers to each of the clues & waving their phone flash lights in order to read. They did this for the next TWO hours & no one came by to say anything to them, despite it being disruptive to our entire half of the room.
While being blinded & spoiled for all of the clues, we got to watch our waitress seat 10 more parties while avoiding our table & the table beside us who were waiting to order their first drinks. Sipping on burnt meringue that smells like an oven fire unfortunately did not elevate the mood (don't recommend the Fantastik cocktail, as pretty as it looks). Eventually (about 50 minutes later) we were able to get our waitress's attention & took initiative to just order our remaining 4 drinks & ask for the rest of the clues. She didn't come back for 10 minutes so we asked another waitress who came by to pick up our empty glasses if we could at least get the last clues.
Because no one had said anything to us, we hadn't realized our phones were necessary to actually solving any of the clues (when we came a year ago everything could be solved with pencil & paper). Once we realized that, we were able to solve everything in 30 minutes, but by that point our timer showed that we'd been sat for 2.5 hours.
Thankfully, all of the AI art meant no artists were harmed in the making of this experience.
Fun concept, but we won't be back for the updated mystery. If you want to go, maybe go on a late weeknight where you have a better chance of being noticed by the staff.
Came with a group of friends. All, but one, knew beforehand that we had a puzzle to solve. Each clue given by 1 of 6 remarkably delicious cocktails. Can't forget to mention the surprise show.
Behind a black door, there is a brick wall. Once you solve that, you are taken underground to a barely lit, hidden Speakeasy. The ambiance had a mystique to it, a really fun atmosphere for fancy drinks & food. Drinks: totally worth the exorbitant price. They were honestly some of the best mixed & polished cocktails we've had in Montreal. The plus is every drink you get a clue to help solve a murder mystery. That was a fun addition, for sure. But you need all 6 clues to solve it, so 3 people ordering 2 drinks each would be recommended (or hey, go for 6 alone). Food: surprise here was the food open at 11h30 until 2am when we arrived. & although a small menu, damn delicious. The burrata & foccacia were certainly worth it. The plate of potatoes, too, was worth for a midnight snake. Service: server was professional, though he did disappear at times & we waited a while for another drink. Another server brought us the clues & round of drinks, very kind & explained the game. We got shots for solving the murder mystery too, Overall a great time to take friends or on a unique date idea.
Hidden bar in st. Denis. Amazing experience at the bar! We had try many cocktails & they are really good. I love how the bar keeps their theme. Its really fun to do the game to solve the clue.
Eh. Neat idea but not executed in the best way. Would have been better if it was one or the other-Speakeasy OR Murder Mystery. Our friend saw it on TikTok & we saw several people there that seemed to only be there for the TikTok. You HAVE to order 6 drinks (& pay per drink), from specific menus in order to get the clues to solve the murder. You can not solve it with only some of the clues. Some drinks were good, some not. Annoying that you can't just order what you like. Door guy was really nasty when we asked if it was possible that friends that were coming in a bit could be seated with us (they couldn't)-how would we know what the seating situation is like inside if we've never been there & they're "secretive" about it? We got the focaccia. It was a very small serving & was just okay
Speakeasy bar with its own concept of the game Clue. By ordering cocktails, you will receive puzzle tasks, for which you will get hints. In total, you need to order 6 cocktails to understand who the killer is, why & how he killed. & in the end, if you succeed, you will receive a complimentary prize. An atmospheric place with good cocktails & decent food. Bun vapeur was very good.
The concept of this bar is absolutely amazing. Very entertaining, but its thought of. Every drink comes with a clue for the murder mystery you must solve. So thats 6 drinks, $$$. But the service is excellent, although i would have liked for them to explain the concept to me when i got there. Drinks are honestly meh, but thats not what your paying for.

A great time @ Le 4e Mur.
Thé staff was lovely & the drinks were great.
We did the murder mystery- although the bartender was very very accommodating, it would have been nice to be able to order the drinks of our choice with the clues, instead of the set menu.
They were delicious but not choices we would usually make for yourselves- which was also a fun adventure.

Fun concept. We ordered 3 rounds each of the drinks with clues. We figured out the murder mystery & we're treated with a shot of something.
