Great selection of local & imported products. I love choosing a new pasta sauce for our weekly dinners! Keep an eye out for PSC events, the owner will surely be cooking up something tasty!
L'avant gout is my go-to grocery store. The owner & his staff are always incredibly friendly, welcoming, & helpful. The products are consistently great quality, & they genuinely try to accommodate whenever you need something specific. It's always a pleasant experience shopping there. Highly recommend supporting this local gem.
L'Avant Goût Épicerie is a hidden gem, it's exactly what a neighbourhood grocery shop should be. The selection of local Québec products is thoughtfully selected - from artisanal cheeses & small-batch preserves to locally roasted coffee & unique pantry staples you won't find in big chains.
You can tell the owners cares about the quality & community. Everything feels intentionally chosen, highlighting regional producers & seasonal ingredients. It's the kind of place where you pop in for one item & leave inspired to cook a three course meal!
The staff are warm, knowledgeable, & happy to share recommendations, which makes the experience feel personal rather than transactional.
If you're in Montréal & want to support local while shopping for truly great products, this spot is absolutely worth the visit!
The products are local. The prices used to be fine, but within just three weeks the price of watermelons went up (in mid September), & unfortunately the quality was not good at all.
They have such a fun selection of local & imported goodies! The weekend tastings are not to be missed!
When I come to MTL, I'm usually here for fashion but wandering the streets of Pointe-Saint-Charles changed that. I stumbled into L'Avant Gout & left with chic olive oils, perfect produce, & a Québec citronella melon I'm still dreaming about. Beautifully curated & worth the trip for locals & visitors alike. This is not just shopping, it's a taste of what happiness looks like.
