Just a small town bakery in Quebec Province. Not one of those trendy patisseries, but more of a gourmet grocery-bakery hybrid with a café attached. I walked in without much expectation, but most stuff I tried was really good. I guess the bar for coffee & pastries runs a little higher here.
I picked up a yuzu croissant & a'De Tropical' (a tropical fruit Danish, I think) along with a pistachio latte. The croissant looked similar to the ones from the most trendy croissants I've had in Boston, but this one actually nailed the basics. Here, the layers were crisp & delicate, no shortcuts, & the yuzu filling had a bright, citrusy balance that didn't overpower. De Tropical was a bit too sweet for me though.
The pistachio latte was the best pistachio latte I've ever had. It was labeled as a'latte gourmand', & from my server's French explanation, I half-expected a mountain of whipped cream. Instead, it came topped with a silky, airy cream with a drizzle of pistachio oil which added this incredible roasted aroma that lingered long after each sip.
J'ai été enchanté de ce lieu .Il y a une partie où l'on peut manger & prendre un café croissants ou sandwichsetc. & une autre partie pour la vente de magnifiques produits.
Une autre visite s'impose.
Found things to bit on the expensive side, but the croissants were delicious
Croissant with almond is extremely delicious! Prices are high but the quality is something else.
