L'Atelier du Pain is a traditional bakery offering homemade, high-quality sourdough-based products. It’s also a gourmet grocery store featuring a cheese and charcuterie counter, fine food products, and privately imported wines.
Overall, L'atelier du Pain comes across as a welcoming bakery and gourmet shop in Magog, blending French pastries, bread, cheeses, charcuterie, chocolates and wines with a friendly, attentive staff; the quality of the products, the aroma of freshly baked goods, and the variety of imported French items are highlighted, and there is a cafe area to enjoy pastries and coffee on site. While many reviews praise the selection and service, a few note occasional pastry inconsistencies and high prices, reflecting a market style mix of imported and specialty items. The place is described as a standout destination for gourmets, inviting repeat visits for its artful breads, cheeses, charcuterie, wines and artisanal products.
Lovely bakery with a great atmosphere! The staff are so friendly & welcoming. Everything we tried tasted fantastic, & the coffee was very good. Definitely recommend! ☕🥐
I visited this grocery cum café recently on a cross-country ski holiday. I ended up going 3 times in 4 days because the food was so delicious, including the bread, charcuterie, extraordinary cheeses & exquisite Cotard chocolates. But this 5-star review is not just about the food, but for the integrity shown by the owner & staff. I left my wallet at the cash register but only realized that I had done so days later, when I was back home, about 500km away. My Google-translated emails were graciously received & answered by owner Thibaud Yvars, who printed a Fedex label on his end & ensured that my wallet ended up on its way. I had left over $120 in cash & piles of plastic in that wallet, & it arrived back untouched. Thank you so much to Thibaud & his exceptionally trustworthy staff!!

Good bread & some good quality cheese, but the pastries are atrociously disgusting, they taste processed, chemical & not fresh at all. Very sad to see such a poor quality in such a place & at those prices ...
Just a small town bakery in Quebec Province. Not one of those trendy patisseries, but more of a gourmet grocery-bakery hybrid with a café attached. I walked in without much expectation, but most stuff I tried was really good. I guess the bar for coffee & pastries runs a little higher here.
I picked up a yuzu croissant & a'De Tropical' (a tropical fruit Danish, I think) along with a pistachio latte. The croissant looked similar to the ones from the most trendy croissants I've had in Boston, but this one actually nailed the basics. Here, the layers were crisp & delicate, no shortcuts, & the yuzu filling had a bright, citrusy balance that didn't overpower. De Tropical was a bit too sweet for me though.
The pistachio latte was the best pistachio latte I've ever had. It was labeled as a'latte gourmand', & from my server's French explanation, I half-expected a mountain of whipped cream. Instead, it came topped with a silky, airy cream with a drizzle of pistachio oil which added this incredible roasted aroma that lingered long after each sip.
