the sweetness is perfect & they use high quality matcha!
my new go to coffee shop! :D
Soooooo good. A really unique spot in MTL. Definitely recommend the salted coffee!
Best matcha in town!! Portion is GREAT. Cute little coffee shop with simple design 💜 staffs are super friendly & fast service. I highly recommend!! 10/10
Tried the egg coffee, it was interesting! Definitely something you should try at least once. I would definitely go back to try other coffees, it's a really nice cafe.
I recommend the brown sugar latte & the croffle!
Enjoyed a nice egg coffee this morning. The vibe if the cafe is really nice & the service was excellent. Very nice barista with great recommendations!
One of closet version of vietnamese's egg coffee you can get in Montreal. Creamy sweet + strong flavour vietnamese coffee is the love you need to wake you up in the morning.
It will also wake up ur stomach & it shall demand some onigiri of unagi to complete ur good morning
Perfect matcha! & salt coffee. I'm a regular & there's few matcha shop that matches the level of matcha drinks here. I asked the owner & turned out they sourced their powder from Japan! The Vietnamese coffee here is also authentic since the owner is Vietnamese. Atmosphere is very clean & chic, a cool place to just chill & chit chat with your friends.
LaKafe is a hidden gem for Vietnamese coffee lovers! Their creative twists on traditional Vietnamese brews are a must-try. I especially loved the matcha latte, very authentic taste. The space is spacious & beautifully designed. Plus, the staff are friendly & make you feel right at home. Definitely coming back for more!
While visiting Montreal I went to this place to get lunch 3 times. The onigiri sandwiches are so good! I tried both the salmon & shrimp. Their Vietnamese Egg coffee I also tried, & I will be back for another one. It was new & interesting, incredibly smooth & creamy & just the right amount of sweetness. I spoke to one of the owners & he was delightful & very accommodating. On another day I spoke with a regular staff member & he was also so kind & sweet. I recommend this place 100%
This is the best macha latte I've ever had in Montreal! The salt coffee also tastes really good, & you sill find so many special flavours here! Strongly recommended!!
Excellent Flavors, the spicy shrimp is amazing. I also tried the coconut coffee, light refreshing, flavorful topped with toasted coconut. Great flavor & refreshing & cold for a warm day. Don't miss out on these flavors
Only had the drinks. Sweet but So refreshing & delicious. The cloud coconut matcha. YUM!
Egg coffeee. Also YUM! Maybe can ask for half or no sugar (idk)
I will go back! Thank you!
Lakafe - Vietnamese Coffee, Cloudy Matcha & Cozy Vibes
Let's talk caffeine & comfort-because Lakafe delivers both in one of the cutest, most photogenic little cafés on Boulevard Saint-Laurent.
I stopped by after hearing whispers about their Vietnamese-style drinks, & honestly? This place makes you want to cancel your afternoon plans just to sip slowly & daydream.
Here's what I tried:
1. Vietnamese Coffee - The barista told me this packs the punch of four shots of espresso (yes, four!), & they weren't kidding. It's strong, sweet, & smooth-the kind of drink that wakes you up & gives you a warm, fuzzy hug. The bold coffee flavor is beautifully mellowed by that classic condensed milk sweetness. If you like your caffeine kick with a little sweetness, this one's for you.
2. Strawberry Matcha ($7.50) - Aesthetically? A 10/10. Taste-wise? A little too milky for me. I wanted more strawberry oomph to balance the creaminess. That said, it's a super approachable option if you're new to matcha. Sweet, soft, & almost dessert-like with that gorgeous green-to-pink gradient.
3. Coconut Matcha Cloud ($7.50) - My clear favorite. It literally tastes like a coconut matcha cookie, in the best way. Light, foamy, & just the right amount of coconut flavor without overpowering the matcha. The'cloud' on top is soft & dreamy-this one's refreshing & cozy. I'd come back just for this.
The space itself? Cozy, calm, & thoughtfully minimal. Think lush plants, warm wood accents , & marble detailing that make the whole place feel both polished & inviting. It has that quiet magic where time feels like it moves a little slower. Whether you're solo-working, journaling, or catching up with a friend, it's the kind of café that welcomes you to stay awhile.
Bonus: they also serve onigirazu (Japanese-style rice sandwiches) & croffles (croissant-waffle hybrids), which I've got my eye on for next time. Savory or sweet, they've got you covered.
Foxy Tip: Matcha fans-run, don't walk, to the Coconut Cloud. It's a vibe.
I spotlight my favorite local gems on TikTok @foxy.appetite & IG @foxyappetite , & Lakafe just made the list. Whether you're in a coffee queen era or your matcha girly core is activated-this is your sign to check them out.
