A small neighborhood restaurant with a warm atmosphere, located in the heart of the Plateau, La Selva is a nice Mexican restaurant and a great restaurant for a quiet evening with friends and/or family. The quality/price ratio is one of the best in town. Come and enjoy the generous portions of excellent shrimp, fish and meat accompanied by rice, salad and beans.

Jamais la cuisine mexicaine n'a été aussi bonne, venant d'une part du service impeccable mais également de l'ambiance électrique. The pulpo a la plancha was amazing! It was perfectly cooked & seasoned, the vegetables were a nice addition. With the Mexican plate, you choose the meat. I chose the fish & it was fantastic, I totally recommend. The carnitas tacos were good, though they needed the additional sauces. The special beef tacos were okay, a bit strange that you dipped the beef tacos in beef juice. Overall nice spot & atmosphere.View more

Awesome restaurant ! It's a small & quaint restaurant that feels really authentic, the vibe was great & the music not too loud which was really appreciated. I had the vegetarian tacos & they were really good with rice on the side. The cocktails were not like the ones you see everywhere, but really good cocktails I had never heard of ! The service was also really good, the waitress was really nice & efficient. You can definitely see she knows what she's doing ! Anyways, love the place, will come again & would definitely recommend to anyone in the area !View more

Very nice little Mexican restaurant, serving mostly soft shell tacos. The dishes are quite filling! Most places I've been to serve just 3 small tacos that leave me wanting more, but here the plates are large enough to actually be a meal.View more

Came into this small unassuming neighbourhood spot for a late lunch. Ordered a plate of carnitas tacos & a guacamole to share. Tacos were generously filled & the carnitas was very tender, flavourful & lightly smoky. The salsa verde was very mild & tangy, meanwhile the salsa roja was deep & perfectly spicy. The staff was very welcoming & catering during our meal. The chef came out to offer us a complementary bowl of frijoles. Came here for my birthday dinner with a few friends. Although they didn't really have notice to do anything about it, they didn't really have anything in store for my birthday so it was just a regular dinner. Not that I had expectations but it is always nice when a restaurant does a little extra something out of acknowledgment for a birthday, it made me think that another restaurant would have been a better choice for my birthday. Mexican food is some of my favourite though which is why I chose this place. The prices are alright. Menu has mid-level of variety, a bit more than just tacos & burritos but not much more. The overall quality is not bad but not impressive either. I think the high ratings for this place are not reflective of this. For the prices they are charging it's reasonable food. I ordered a Mojito & I have to say that drink was pretty amazing though. Pretty rare I like a drink more than my actual meal but this was the case here.View more

Great service. Shrimp tacos were good but expensive for what they were & breaded with the tail on which I really dislike. My friend was disappointed in the selection of mains which were all tacos & gringas. Paloma Roja was a nice cocktail. For a place called Selva I was expecting more plants.View more

After years of searching, I think I finally found the closest thing to an authentic Mexican restaurant in Montreal! The guacamole was superb, as were the beef & chicken tacos. The octopus entree was amazing & the coconut milk flan was perfect!View more
