Nous sommes venu dans ce restaurant plusieurs fois. Le service & la cuisine sont absolument excellents. Les serveurs & le patron sont très agréables & attentifs. Je ne comprends pas les avis 1 ⭐, très honnêtement il faut avoir une mauvaise journée pour mettre une notation pareille à ce restaurant, quand bien même vous seriez habitué au Ritz Carlton ou au Sofitel.
Tout est divin, en commençant par le service qui est 5 étoiles & la nourriture qui est un péché mignon à chaque bouché !! C'est bon jusqu'à la dernière goutte !
Best hidden gem of Montreal, in the most precious gem of old Montreal. My husband & I came from New York City to find a restaurant which compares favorably to our favorite NYC restaurants. The place is so beautiful & so very romantic, Cosy & artistic with a great selection of background music. The food is so delicious, The service is impeccable & the staff is warm, welcoming well mannered & professional. Any visitor to beautiful Montreal who misses this exceptional restaurant has missed a marvelous experience.
We wanted some oysters & this place did not disappoint. Oysters were from St Edward Island & they were delicious. You didn't need anything extra on top...not too salty. I added some vinegar & hot sauce-perfect combo for me.
A very cozy & dimmed restaurant. The food was spectacular. The 3 types of meat was interesting, but the rack of lamb was by far my favorite. The lamb was super tender, the lamb flavor was delicate & noticeable while leaving out the gammyness of lamb.
Exceptional family-owned restaurant, with first-rate food, service & atmosphere. My family had the privilege of dining here twice, once last spring, & again this fall. The owner, her daughter, & servers Anthony, Manuel, & Miguel were very engaging & attentive, & made our visits truly memorable occasions. We visit Montreal once or twice each year to shop & take in a Habs game, & La Sauvagine definitely has become integral to this pilgrimage.
A beautiful atmosphere with French music playing made us feel right in the mood for delicious food. The wild game pate was very tasty & had the best olives I have ever tasted
The wild game trio & rack of lamb was also exceptional.
The service was wonderful, this meal was a highlight of our trip to Montreal.

We went there for drinks as we were dehydrated. We had a couple of beerrs & wines. Had a blast. They even provided water to our dog. ANTHONY was our server & he is the best. Talk to us & made us laugh. Im still a Braves fan but you are the best
L'ambiance est calme sous la musique de jazz & francophone. Les serveurs sont sympa & amicals. J'ai opté pour un menu spécial du mois de mars. J'ai goûté au terrine du gibier avec une sauce sucrée qui s'agence bien. Le canard confit aux cannerberges est tendre & juteuse bien qu'elle soit cuit au trois quart. L'assiette semble pas très garnie mais la table d'hôte de ces plats vous charmeront & satisferont votre estomac. Première visite mais à y retourner.
La vraie combinaison pour les Montréalais cet hiver que je vous suggère.
Le Solmar, 11 St-Paul est situé au 2ième étage avec spectacle les vendredis & samedis soirs ainsi que La Sauvagine au 115 St-Paul au rez-de-chaussée dans une ambiance rustique & calme.
Par un midi ensoleillé, je me suis arrêté & j’ai essayé une belle terrasse extérieure pourvue de fleurs & de belles tables en céramique peintes à la main importées du Portugal & munies de grands parasols. Ils annonçaient des spéciaux de $12 à $15 dollars servis entre 12hres à 15hres. A leur menu, ils offraient une table d’hôte à partir de $17.95 jusqu’à $48.95, un menu 4 services servi en parallèle entre midi & 22-24hres selon la saison.
Depuis six, sept ans notre groupe de plusieurs personnes l’avons adopté. Tous les jeudis nous venons déguster les magnifiques tapas portugais, les entrées de La Sauvagine sans oublier la fameuse casserole de fruits de mer, les crevettes au Madère, les escalope de veau au Porto, les linguines de fruits de mer, le filet mignon sauce au bleu à la portugaise, le Carré d’agneau du Québec, le trio de canard au foie gras, le trio au trois gibiers garnis de 3 différents sauces & d’une variété de légumes frais toujours bien présentés.
Ce sont d’excellents plats servis par un personnel courtois & attentionné qui peut vous servir dans plusieurs langues,
Il me fait plaisir de suggéré à tous mes clients & amis cet endroit qui nous rappelle la belle époque portugaise ou française ou l’on peut se régaler & profiter pleinement de la terrasse installée à même le trottoir & la rue, l’une des plus belles de la rue St-Paul pour manger un repas de qualité à un prix très abordable en comparaison d’autres restaurants & ensuite se prélasser sur la terrasse sans oublier les soirées animées du temps des Fêtes en particulier de la nouvelle année. Je ne pensais pas suggérer cet endroit depuis six, sept ans, mais à la lecture de certaines critiques mal intentionnées je me permets de rétablir les faits face à une critique mal fondée de certains compétiteurs qui ne peuvent offrir un service de cette qualité à des prix raisonnables.
Toutes les personnes que j’ai invité à partager un repas à cet endroit qu’il soit du Québec, de la Suisse, de Cuba, de la France ou de l’Espagne ou du Mexique ont apprécié cet endroit.

My girlfriend & I attended this restaurant for my Birthday & unfortunately it was rather disappointing. But before criticizing, let me give a few positive points. The restaurant decorations were nice, it was romantic & the location being in the Old Port of Montreal was quite nice. The service was okay, but nothing amazing. Now the bad part: in a nutshell, the restaurant lacked the attention to detail I would expect from a higher class restaurant. It all started with the bread, which was the same quality you get on an airplane. The appetizers were pricey but not very good (scallops & salmon mousse) & the biggest disappointment was the main course.
The restaurant's speciality is supposed to be wild game & this is the main reason why we went to the restaurant was to try their three-game special. Unfortunately the sauces on the meat were not flavourful & the quality of the meat was unforgivable. Not only was the meat poorly cooked, the meat quality was very rough & almost un-chewable. My girlfriend & I were having to spit out pieces of meat in a fancy restaurant, not very appealing in my opinion.
We made a complaint to the waiter & they did not do anything about the poor quality of the food. Pretty disappointing. I would suggest going elsewhere.
Un restaurant extra , nous sommes venue en vacances (15jours) nous y avons manger 2 fois !!!!!! La qualité des produits est exceptionnelle , l'ambiance chaleureuse ... Je retournerai a Montréal rien que pour y manger !

Nourriture TRES excellente! Service tres bien aussi & le temps d'attente pour mon assiette 10 min donc tres rapide. Super decor. Belle terrasse & l'interieur avait l'air encore mieux. Une premiere fois pour moi & jy retournerai pour sure!
