The sesame crunch, coupled with the intently mashed & freshly served shrimp pâté filling, supported by a buttery crispy base… I drool… *beat* My eyes roll back in pure delight. Bob asks us if we want anything else besides the Fortune Cookies & I respond:'Yeah, the recipe & a box to go please' Bob nods.
Damn if this isn't still a great restaurant. Hadn't been in 20 years & it did not disappoint.
Try the shrimp toast. Their peanut butter dumplings are also very good. Banana fritters...yum.
When we arrived the receptionist didn't even say hello or give me a moment; it took sometime for someone else to assist us.
BUT the urinals in the men's restroom smell bad, & one was FILTHY.
They better do something about that in order to loop successfully the experience.
First time there after all these years. I ordered take out, but the place looked really nice. A bit expensive, but food quality is worth it. What stands out it's the service, ladies taking & handing my order were so friendly & professional -will definitely try dining-in soon. Kudos.
We haven't been to The Pearl since 1995 but it was always so great that we've never had anything better. The food was amazing & was our inspiration for always finding better eateries. One day we will travel back to Montreal & revisit The Pearl.
I have lived in multiple countries & traveled to more than 50. This is by far my favorite restaurant that I have EVER been to. Well worth the price. We book flights with layovers in Montreal just to be able to make a stop here to eat.
Looking for your new go-to-stop in the West Island? Look no further. A classic - family favourite - that always delivers.
